Ok so I bought this all in one system called the Aerogarden its pretty cool the Aero Garden, indoor herb garden, growing a indoor herb garden, indoor herb garden kit, beginner indoor herb garden kit, garden kit it comes with different seed kits. The one it came with was for salad greens and comes with some nutrient tablets to give once every two weeks specifically for the salad greens. Other kits are for flowers, cherry tomatoes, peppers, herbs, which each have their own special blend of nutrient tablets. Which one of these is most like a marijuana plant? I heard tomatoes.
Anyways, since I dont know much about growing I figured this was the best way to go. The kit comes with seven foam cylindrical shaped mediums which fit into a plastic hopper type device that slides into the hole where water is pumped from the resivoir yada yada. The tops of the foam mediums have a slit that when spread apart reveals what looked like several salad green seeds. I removed these seeds and replaced with one marijuana seed found from bags of weed. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and i have gotten 4 to sprout and had about 7 seeds never sprout. I have just placed new seeds in the last 3 slots, the other day so they should sprout in about 1 1/2 more days. They have only taken about 2 1/2 days to sprout.
I guess my main goal here is to get this new method out there and recieve your reponses and criticisms on this little project and to as well keep you all informed on this product as it may yield nice results. I feel like Christopher Columbus sailing into the blue with no guides. But I hope That you all can help guide me. lol ok I think I need to stop smoking before I write this stuff.
I have posted some pictures in my profile please view them because I have also noticed some yellowing on my plants, so help as to what may cause this and what I should do would be so great.

Thanks for Reading this
time for some :joint:

How about a timer?
DOes it have a built in timer?
If not can you hook a timer up to it?

Can it be left outside?

cheers

It kinda has a timer.... if you look at the 5 different plant settings they control the light and I think the flow of water through each plant medium (spongy type foam). But the manual doesnt explain the amount of light for each choice. There are different seed kits that coorespond to each setting (sold seperatley). The machine came with the seed kit for salad greens. the seed kit contains the seeds in a foam cylinder and a hopper (type like holder) for the foam cylinder. It also comes with nutrient tablets specifically for the seed kit in my case the salad greens (ive been using them) was thinking about next time getting a cherry tomato seed kit and using those tablets. Ive heard marijuana is similar to tomato in some ways. You can see that i have mine set on tomatoes and peppers and this gives 16 hours of light and 8 of darkness. Some of the plants were started at different times because seeds werent readily available but the biggest gap in age is 2 weeks. The oldest are the 3 in the center at about 3 weeks....heres a pic of the settings... .https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-pics/file.php?n=450&w=o

No I'm pretty sure there is no setting for 12/12 so I figured I would just have to turn it on and off manually every 12 hours, kinda a pain in the ass, maybe I could get some kinda timer, not too sure tho...

this might just be the solution for me....I love it. I been looking and considering what the best approach is. I will be a small timer and for personal use.....but this is totally meeting the laziness in me.....plant and go. I'm gonna check this out....but PLEASE post some pics as you get going!

Haha thats funny. I could see that. Anyways, you should see the root system its so cool, its like hundreds of white hairs all joining together to make one super plant, lol. Im gonna try to get a picture of that but it might be kinda hard. ok well ttyl

Thanks for the picture..

1. Can you change those bulbs and put in the 42 watt CFL's?
2. I think that the plant is being over fead... the tips of the leaves are brown.. correct? Maybe you should ease up on the nutrients..
3. Are you PH ing your water?

cheers

I dont know the lights came with the system so I dont know if the male end of another light would fit into the female socket.

I havent been PHing (I know I know) I plan on getting a tester very soon.
As for the nutrients I have been just using what came with the salad greens kit which is 2 tablets once every two weeks into the resivoir.

I was thinking of buying a liquid nutrient solution to put into the resivoir but not exactly sure what to get for vegitative (high nitrogen?) and for flowering (high K & P?) and what about a solution for the micro nutrients. Also I will get the exact measurment for the amount of water in the resivoir i think its like 2-3 liters. So how much nute solution would be sufficent to pour in to resivoir, 2 tables spoons, 1/4 cup?

Well this is the first grow with this thing I feel the second try is going to be way better due to gained knowledge and experience.

ok thanks fellas

yeah dawg....thats some hott shit right thurr..... u cant tell me the creators of aerogarden didnt know what they were doin...geniuses..anyhow ..i jus wanted to know if the height of the light thing was a problem..and if u found the light to b bright enuff

The height was a problem later on...

When the plants reached the maximum height I was forced to buy some 2 feet of 18 gauge power cord and splice it into the lamp hood cord.

This was very easy to do and works great.

I can now suspended the lighting hood and height I want allowing for bigger plants....

But I dont know if big plants are good for this machine

I waited way too long to start flowering with this machine (4 weeks)

If one waited 2 weeks to start flowering they might never have to splice and shit but maybe still?

Next time I flower at 2 weeks

Thanks for your interest

Peace

yeah dawg..right now ur basically a pioneer to the game..imma get me one of those...ive grown weed with a similar hydroponics kit but it was like a grand..i htink if u force the plant to grow with out raising the light to much they will grow more stumpy and not so much stalk...imma try it soon

Hey so how is it going? I'm thinking of buying this too, I'm wondering how well it works... have you seen any flowering yet or did you just now start flowering? What kind of nutrient solution did you use? It looks like the plants grew fairly tall, in your pics....

Oh yeah a couple ppl asked about the light strength, how is that? According to the website the whole system uses less than 60 watts... does it use a standard size bulb socket so you could replace it with a more powerful one? What if you didnt want to use that light at all and simply use your own, are the nutrient delivery system/timer/growbox together worth the price?

I dont understand how you figure after planting a seed in a aerogarden u will be able to begin the flower stage 2 weeks later, thats ridiculous first off that would never work second off the buds would accumulate to around a gram if that was true n third the ammount of thc would be so small that spending 150 dollars for this product is pretty stupid

lol thats kind of what i was thinking. but he said he didnt actually flower after two weeks he waited four weeks to flower but it was too much because his plants were too tall. They looked kind of scrawny and not look like they were gonna explode with bud but I dont know much about that. I found this other system that looks cheap, compact, but more powerful, what do you guys think of this one: Aerospring aeroponic systems by FUTUREGARDEN ?
