I'm at week 7 of flowering bigbud. I was wondering if I should get a 30x magnifiying loupe to check out the trichomes. Is there a better suggestion to this?

I use one of these

3-Lens Magnifier - RadioShack.com

It only goes to 15x and it works fine. I don't know why everyone wants to need 100x and up. I'm not looking for live cell activity. I can see the trich's and tell if they are clear, cloudy or amber with it, plus I can get close to it and don't have trouble with light to see it with either. I'd say you will be plenty fine with the 30x.

I use both a 30x jewelers loupe and a 420 scope. Both are good in their own ways and I use both of them all the time.

Mine is adjustable from 60x to 100x, just picked it up yesterday.
please update us so we can get an appraisal of if you can indeed see cell growth or just a better view of the trichomes with that extra power. (+ rep for you for BTW)

I use the $10 10X RADIO SHACK scope and it works great.
I assume the dude who suggested the 100X was joking???

At 60x I can see the trichomes, at 100x they look much much better, the RS scope has to be held really really still. I am not sure about cell growth, all I can see are the mass amount of trichs.
