how many usd is it? i would go with this one, cuz it looks like the nicest new tent, and it has the ir lining. I think it would be worth it. Im buying a 9x9 Darkroom, and then two 4x4's plus two 3x3's, and im gunna put all the smaller ones in the 9x9. That way, i should be invisible to infra red cameras. Im only buying this setup since i move alot, and rent, so i can't always build a room like i have now.

idk what that is american, so idk if thats a good price. You can probobly get the darkroom shipped anywere in the world? but if you cant get the darkroom, the one your looking at is like the model just before they started the infra red protection, so its still a better tent than most.

If you can't get DarkRoom in your country, the Homebox Silver is your best bet.
Strong material, and very reflective on the inside.

I wish they sold it here.

To make something like that, just buy some PVC piping and joints and constuct the frame. Drape with vapor barrier and a thick tarp, styrofoam insulation and coat with mylar. Duct tape the seals, cut your venting holes, attach the fans/lights.... Test for light leaks, seal up the leaks, and get going.

Anyone have any plans or pics of a homemade tent? It would be interesting to see how much it would cost to build, instead of throwing away a few hundred dollars.

I don't have a pic, but it is really easy, just connect the PVC piping in the shape that you need. Do as I suggested above. Shouldn't cot much more that $100 at the most! I get styrofoam free, but it is cheap....

you can use a wooden wardrobe they might be a little cheaper to by and they look like a piece of furniture.in canada they are about a 1oo$ for one thats about 30x22x72" and thats plenty big enough for one person to grow in,plus you only have to put it togther once and just move it like a piece of furniture hope that helps

Yeah but Id just buy one. If it costs 100 bucks to have a DIY homemade one, why not just spend 150 and get a nice perfectly made one? without duct tape and shit on it. My homebox s was 145. I love it, its made very well and very easy to put togther and take apart. Plus, Homebox is a great company. I complained that my zipper broke, they sent me a brand new one the next day. So, now I have 2. Anyway, great company and not very expensive in the first place. They are worth it.

Yeah, I guess we all have our preference. I like to buil thingsa, so I wouldn't sepnd on a prefabed thing if I can buil it myself for less. But again, it is a personal thing. The product you mention is good for sure. Good luck!

Im not as good at building things I guess..... I tried to build my own carbon filter, spent 40 bucks, it was ineffective and I had tobuy a new one for 120.

little off topic, but in the US, isnt it illegal for the LEOs to use thermal imaging without a warrant? i remember reading somewhere that in i think 2005 it was made illegal to do IR fly overs without a warrant. (not that it would matter in the long wrong, as the law can do what it wants)

thats true, but weve all heard the stories of how a helicopter chase with FLIR ends up seing grow houses, or even grow cars/ busses along the way. The only reason i would suggest buying a tent at all would be the IR protection, and the ability to have a grow room anywere.

It's true, tents help mask the heat given off from a light, but most of the time what gives you away
is not your grow light, it's the heat from the exhaust coming out of a window or a vent in your roof.
Careful planning can prevent LEO from detecting anything. Most small time closet growers really
have nothing to fear as long as they play it safe.
