cfl grow

Hey everyone!

This is my first grow ever. Its just one plant, and Im doing it for fun.

My set-up:
one cardbox
2 cfl, 2700k, 32w+23w
one computer fan

The plant is ~10 days old, and its doing pretty well so far. Im keeping it quite close to the lights, around 2-3cm. I managed to water it correctly, I guess. The temps are around 31-32 celsius and the fan is blowing on the plant. I kept the lights on 24/24hrs and later this day Im going to switch on 12/12, since my space is limited. I want it to keep it low, since its very stealth. my only problem is that the plant "closed", you will see it in the pictures, maybe you have some suggestions. I will post pictures quite often, and I hope you guys will help me if problems appear.

thanks!:bigjoint:

well i dont know about anyone else, but just "open" it. lol. shouldn't hurt it, if you clean your hands, and are soft. lol, if anything it will help, 'cause it'll get little more light

yeah it looks nice, hmm, are there any air holes in that cup? so the roots can breath? and maybe your baby just like the light lol and thats why its leaf point towards the light. do you have the lights on any light regiment?

there are no air holes in that cup. there will be when i transplant it. when do you think its necesarry to do this?
they were on 24/24 and this afternoon i swithced to 12/12.

instead of 12/12 you should veg it a little longer and put it on either 18/6 (day/night)for like a week or so, then 14/10 but i would transplant it in like 4 days or so, when its 2 weeks :D properly timed transplants should help your plants to grow even more =D

yeah but if i veg longer doesnt it grow bigger? its in a box so i dont want it too big :D
if i transplant it during flowering, this could be a shock and turn her into a hermie?

this is the 3rd day of 12/12 and the 13th since it sprouted (i think). i transplanted it. i noticed that the cotyledons are turning yellow, why?
the picture with the rd cup was taken yesterday, and the other 2 were taken today, after the transplant.

Anotheroldephart, why do you think it's abused? in my opinion they are doing quite well.

thanks for watching:bigjoint:

Just a bit of humour there.. Well, plants need the blue spectrum during veg growth (6500K and the red(2700K for fruit-flower growth.. As they are now they can't fulfill their potential, that's all. i found a deal on 6500K bulbs at growwurks.com that , for the $ is a great deal. HD has the correct K bulbs in medium CFL's as well, Something to consider when next you grow.

she is doing pretty good, all is fine except for the cotyledons, which are yellow. don't know if this is normal. there are some signs for sex,i think, but they are too little and i can't tell without magnification and i don't have a good camera to show you. i hope she's a girl.

Is that string, or wire supporting this seedling? If it is, please remove it immediately. You are stressing the seedling at a young age. Also try moving your lights closer and center them above the plant. Those lights can burn the the leaves, so do not let the light touch the plant. 7.5-10cm should do.

KEEP VEGGING (growing, not flowering/budding) MAN, at least a month. 12.12 and lower is used to force flowering, be patient with it. It will start to grow like a d!ck on viagra, seriously. Do not go to 12.12. I have to agree with kellie420, 18.6 light cycle is great to use. People often think that 24/24 is good, but remember, plants are a living species. They need rest like humans do, not to be rude, but how would you feel if you had to intake your energy for 24 hours without a break?

lol, I have done trials with 18.6 and 24.0 cycles, 18.6 simulates a sunrise and sunset. Helps reduce shock if you plan on moving it outside. Hope this helps "bud"

those little round leaves will turn yellow. normal, so dont fret. they have done their duty in protecting goodies.

those little wires were removed days ago. i used them cause the plant was not growing vertically. they have done their job.
i agree with you regarding the light cycle, but i have max 50 cm of height available.
what do you suggest?

the lights are around 6 cm above the plant, no burnt leaves so far. thank you!
