This is my largest female plant. It's a White Widow plant that I thought I'd killed a number of times. I'm proud of the fact that I didn't actually kill it :-P
Finally a dkb grow. Looks good not much info but its cool the pix are awesome man.
U growing hydro? soil? Sorry man but like i said im lookin at pix at this point..Cant concentrate much on the actual words in sentences.
Maybe i have add. Adult add its possible i guess.

ROFL!!!! The lights were 50cents each, theres 20 of em (thats $10), I made the light boards out of scrap wood (free), and Simpson strong ties (like $6 total), the light fixtures, adapters, and splitters came out to about $15, I bought the extension cords fer the wiring @ the dollar store ($12 total), and my homeboy made the reflectors (free)=$42, about. Plus, I run two fans w/the window open and my temps are perfect!
I am trying HPS next grow, possibly!

Yeah, the Widow is starting to frost up now with some nice white leaves around the buds. Sorry, I've been too lazy to take pics.

I'm growin' hydro. The White Widow is in a 5 gallon bucket with a 10" net pot as a lid. It's a DWC so there's an air stone in the bottom of that bucket with a T attached to get the water bubbling real good. I'm using a Super Luft air pump. I also have another 3 plants, BC Great White Shark, they're in a DWC/Drip system running off the same air pump with a water pump for the drip.

I'm using a 600 watt HPS Plantastar bulb on a Lumatek digital ballast in a Homebox XL grow tent.

I know it most definitely ups the cost but I like to run a MH for veg and a HPS for flower. It gives better light spectrum for the plants during the different cycles and gives them what they need the most when they need it the most.

Depending on if you are someone who has to have the very best or if something somewhat generic is good enough for you, you can find both MH and HPS in 400 watts for $140.00 each. I’m sure the ballast isn’t the best and the reflectors are not going to be the best but they still do put off a lot of light, way more than CFL’s, I have a friend that bought from a place I think is called Inside Sun and their inexpensive lighting is somewhat generic but he’s used his setup for about 4 or 5 years now and other than changing bulbs once, not because they burned out but because they lose some of their light spectrum over time, he hasn’t had to spend a dime on his lights or replace anything and he gets pretty darn good results considering his lighting in comparison to the top names/brands.

Myself I’d prefer something better but then if it were me and the choice was between CFL’s and what he bought I would buy what he bought even though they would cost a fair bit more than you paid for your light setup by making it yourself. But then I think you might be able to just buy the ballast and the light fixture and bulb part from the place and maybe reuse your reflectors or have your pal make new ones and end up with less money in your lights than by buying a complete setup.

But we all have to do what we think or feel is best for us so whichever way you go I hope it works out well for you.

What I would really like to do if the prices ever drop a bunch is go to LED lighting. I saw a grow report on another site a couple years back where a guy used nothing but LED lighting and had fantastic results. Of course he paid a TON to get enough lighting but in his case he had the bucks to do it.

Because of the lack of light penetration he took light bars, again all LED’s and attached them to portable polls and placed them between the plants. Because of the very low operating temperatures he didn’t have any heat problems and he could get the lights close and really flood the plants with the exact light spectrums they need the most. All the leaves were full and green right down to the biggest bottom fan leaves because they always got all the light they needed and didn’t fall off like so often times happens when plants get thick and taller and lights are raised and even if high wattage they still cannot penetrate far enough down or through the thick leaves to get enough light to the bottom leaves.

The grow was amazing but so was what he paid for all the LED’s he needed. That would break many people’s bank accounts right there.

Still it worked great and used very, very little electricity and there was almost no heat so when prices are reasonable for LED’s I will most likely give that a crack but until then I will stick with my MH/HPS setup.

Yeah, LEDs would be a great option if they weren't so damned expensive for a setup that actually works. I'm using HPS throughout the grow. I know MH is faster for veg but I've also read that the plants can be healthier and possibly yield more if you use HPS.

Damn, brick top! I was gonna quote to reply, but that was a lot! I actually just bought a brand new air-cooled 400W Hydrofarm, along w/a semi-new ballast fer $120. I'm still gonna veg w/my CFL's, but come nest flowering, that bad boy is gonna be hummin! Also, there is no increase in power fer me, it's the opposite! I have over 400W running in CFL's!

I think you'll be pleased with the results Where. I used fluorescent tubes for my first grow and I saw a huge improvement with the HPS.

The DWC works great. There's a massive root ball in that bucket :)

You guys had some great info and great GROWS of the White strain... I myself have 3 Feminized 'Snow White' about 12 days in the DWC Bubbler 6pack now.

I took them off the water pump and am just manually rinsing the rockwool cubes at this point because the water pump took up so much damn room and it was also getting gunked up from the Botanicare Liquid Karma I threw in it. Things seem to be running fine. Here's a pic of one at about 10 days in the system. I'm going to setup a grow log but haven't started yet.

I'm running this under a 400w HPS.
