Hey these are my two plants that have been planted for about a week, I added the starter nutes when i planted them and now a week later i have inserted the week one tablet. IS this going to hurt my plant?? I have fox farm Big Grow but am waiting to add it.
people usually mist before the lights turn off, you dont want to heat up the water thats sitting on the plant
Cool Thanks....

Gotta Question: I am going to be switchin to flowering today... My plan is to flush out the REZ... Takes some pix for everyones pleasure. Then swap the bulbs to the 2700k ones I bought and put fresh water in the rez (with 1.5 AG nute tabs)... then turn the lights back on for the rest of the day until shut the lights off and start the 12/12 cycle... does that sound right.. Help a nigga out!

ight thanks sicc also i jus cheched the roots an there is jus a lil brownish towards the top of the root wat could that be???
brown on the roots means burnt/root rot. make sure your top is covered. and that there is no light hitting the reservoir/roots

DEF NOT GOOD... Like FRAGILE said.. make sure there is ZERO light going into that REZ... When I first put my AG together I swear there wass too much light coming in through the edges of the base.... I put electrical tape along all the edges... not a hint of light and NEVER a root rot issue.. My roots almost look bright white!! holler...

yea, i was having the same problem when i first started using my AG to grow "tomatoes"
Just added a nice strip of reflective tape around all the edges and my root rot problem solved itself. Pearly white roots now ^_^

cool... Glad to see im not the only one thats done that. I havent heard people on here say they notice the light from the edges... maybe its more of an issue on certain models... I think I have the AG 200... who knows.. good advice nonetheless...

i already asked this in my grow thread but i figure more peolpe will answer here and i want more opinions on this: how tall shud i let the seedling grow before i start to veg it? also im thinkiing of building a hydroponics system similar to the AG, but i was wondering if sponges would be ok to use in place of the black grow sponges.

they will triple in size, so all you got to do is calculate that into how much space you have, i did the same thing, checc my thread for some ideas

I've been curious as to what I could use when I run out of the AG's sponges, be it other kinds of sponges or something else that is effective. Preferably something that I could "rig" (without spending hours on end, mind you!) out of typical household items and/or as low budget as possible supplies to purchase.... AG products can really get overly expensive.

I'll be able to tell you how my buddy's kitchen sponge experimental grow is going in a week or so. Feel free to try it for yourself though.

any sponge will work, its kinda common sense on which ones to use, just a good judgment and your set

I have 7 23 watt cfls, plus the aerogarden hood on one side of the plants because they became to tall, and I broke one light while trying to hang it. With this setup, how much could I possibly yield? I was thinking of getting 150 watt hps, but I'd like to see what my current setup might pull for me. Please let me know if Ill have a decent flower with what I got, and what I could possibly harvest with a 150 watt hps on these plants. Thanks 2 weeks into flowering. Bushier small plant is a female, showed flowers today, other tall one still unknown. Nutrients: Flora Nova Bloom

You have ~ 12,000 lumens, 150W HPS would bump you up a little bit, but its going to put out way more heat.

I would say... pick up 3 or so 42W cfls and mix them in there, to add 3000 lumens. (putting you at more lumens than 150W hps)

I got 4 right now but Im going to add like 2 more soon... like 15,600 lumens total

Interesting, mine were 2700.

Ive seen alot of lumen variance in bulbs from the same company.

There are 26W bulbs with 1650 lumens (most expensive, most recent model, shorter bulb, thinner tubes) that cost more, then some 1700 lumen bulbs, and then some 1750 lumen bulbs.. all made by GE..
