I know I don't have the time to do a proper grow journal. But this is my 1st attempt at a complete indoor grow. I'm still learning/guessing at some things. But, overall I'm proud of my girls...take a look

if i were still growing iin the AG,i would use those peat whatever the fuck SICC uses cause im seein alot of STEM rot with these sponges on diff. growers threads,.Man that stem rot is a horrible thing, and will ruin your entire crop, and then ull have to start cloning!

I don't know what you're talking about, I didn't have any problems with stem rot.......... HAHAHAHA!!!

Yeah, I have been. When they got too tall, I took off the ag hood and added 2 clamp lights on top of the dresser with 150W soft lights....I don't know cfl's, sorry. I moved them out of the way for the pic, but I got a total of 4 100w bulbs and a full spectrum sunlamp going on them too. Since I was able to do this in a spare room, I've got some natural light coming in too. Heat hasn't been a problem. With the weather warming up, if it does become a problem, the room has a nice ceiling fan. For the 12 hours off, I cover 'em up so no worries as the days get longer. I think the natural light contributed to some stretching, but I just believe in it, since I can. I've read different schools of thought on mirrors, but I don't know??? It's been working OK for me.

sounds like you got it going good.... those arms are def going to reach for the light and stretch... i dunno about the mirror, I imagine it reflects real good but it must get hot right??? you should feel the mirror closests to the plant, prob not good.

Ok so I went to Bed Bath & Beyond this morning and they actually sell the fuckin AeroGarden there... along with seed kits. I was going to get the gourmet herb seed kit because its the one that came with my AG but they also had the tomato kit so I got that one... the tabs seems to be bigger and they say "for Fruiting" on them... I thought I read somewhere that the tomato nutes were more inline with the nutes needed for weed. Does anyone have a clue?

Also, the grow sponges it came with seem to be made of peat or something?? Has anyone used these before? Im curious if I need to cut down the sponge or something?? Here are some pix I took, any feed back would be great, THANKs!

Yea man i have those same ones, cut em down to size, and poke a hole thru them where that lil circle is, i also cut my in half, but towards the end, i them them in tack, so you can actually sandwich the tap root when they come out after you poke the hole, there should be a groove that gos all the way down on the inside if that makes sense haha, those nutes should be fine, i would save em for flowering, maybe they will fatten up the buds haha

I'm 5 weeks into flowering. I couldn't get a nice closeup without getting all blurry, but I'm gonna try again sometime soon. They aren't as gorgeous as yours, but looking very nice, plump and healthy for their age. This is bagseed, and I have NO IDEA what strain. I just remembered saving these seeds 'cause it was good smoke, lol! In the end, I ended up with 1 male, 4 girls and 1 plant I broke. Of course the male had to go and I put the broken plant into an empty pod and it sprouted all kind of roots. So, I ended up moving it and the 2 weaker girls outside in a little makeshift greenhouse I have. I'm sort of experimenting around and having a blast!!! We picked up a 2nd ag on clearance for $38 bucks so I started another grow with 3 afghan kush, 1 white widow and 3 thai skunks. Again, I'm just having a blast!!! :joint::peace:

HAHAHAHA!! I told you they sold this shit at Bed, Bath & Beyond....and you probably thought it was a "chick store". Anyways, I've used both sponges and actually prefer the green ones, I think...the jury is still out. I did take a round toothpick and poked a hole through the entire length of the sponge. I use the pods to germinate and and the initial mistake I made was sticking the seed too far in the first time around and I had a few just never took off properly. This time around I'm 7 for 7! Once germinated, then I gently push them in a little deeper with my trusty ol' toothpick.

FYI, I appreciate the feedback on the mirror. I was concerned, but for some reason that I can't even figure, I don't have a heat problem. I'm just assuming the size of the room and the fact that it never really gets too warm back there. I'm just totally stoked because doing this all indoors just changes my entire perspective on growing my own!! I never thought I would be able to do it with the success I'm having.

I've got to thank everyone for the feedback! What a blast I'm having!:peace:

What beauties!!! :weed:
Have you topped them, per chance? I know that some people prefer not to top or do anything "unnatural" but topping/pruning is done all the time in farms/orchards.... not only controls the height a lot, but also makes 'em bushy and allows for more lower growth development and hence a larger yield per plant! I hated the idea of cutting down such beautiful plants at first, but was immediately glad I did. I can't imagine ever growing my ladies without topping them now. ;) In case you've not read it yet: https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/151706-uncle-bens-topping-technique-get.html#post1931449.... The first post explains it all in enough detail to get what he's conveying; the hundreds of questions that follow are mostly unnecessary reads, IMNSHO.

And what's this about a "proper" grow journal? I'm sure you've noticed that I don't post all that often; typing isn't very comfy for me anymore. (Speaking of, still have a PM saved; I'll get back to it ASAP! lol) I don't worry about my thread being proper, only my plants. :p Any help I may need, I've already got the journal going for anyone to see the "backstory" and know what's what.

Pre-Flowering photo I found a month or so ago.... left the watermark on it and all that jazz so that the proper site gets credit. ;) I've read in a few books/sites that males tend to show sex before females, but don't know how consistent that is. ANYHOOO, hope this helps!
