This is my first grow. Please tell me how these gals (hopefully) are looking at 10 days old. Will they fill out if they are stretched? One looks real stretchy and the other is more uniform for it's size. They are both the same strain and have been given the exact same care. Any suggestions? If the pic didn't upload please look in my gallery.

Hydronoob how many watts is that cfl/s your using for veg? You can move it closer and that should stop the stretching. Lower wattage cfl's should be placed within 1 inch for best result. Envirolites are much larger and can't be placed as close though. Do you have a envirolite?

Nice little setup you got there! Is that a hps in the flowering chamber? How many watts is the flowering light? And what are the dimensions of that flowering chamber LxWxH?

just took this one
Hey bro, just wanted to say it looks great except I think you are over watering it. The leaves are droopy. Check outPlant Abuse Chart and Photos by Nietzsche, here. Sorry I do not have the direct link. It shows a pic of your babies. If I am wrong, I apologize. Take care.

The veg light is 6400K, 135 watt CFL. I don't believe it's an envirolight. Thanks for admiring the set up too. It's doing okay so far. The company claims you "plug and grow" but that's not entirely true lol. For one thing, the veg chamber needs vent fans. I added an intake and exhaust and the temp stays at mid to low 70's. I do have a newly installed c02 system too. It seems to be doing pretty well. Time will tell. I'm out at my other house....my grow house if you will. I don't have a tape measure but I would guess the flowering chamber side would be 3.5 x 2.5 x 3.5feet.

I'm using a 135W CFL. I just don't understand how only two plants inside the chamber are stretching that bad. How can they not get enough of that light? Needy buggers. I was about 2 feet from the plants though. Next time, I'll go right underneath them as you did. Does that sound about right? As you can see from the picture, I have placed a plant cup underneath them and they are now closer. Do you think that's close enough?

It's not dodgy my friend, as long as it gets the job done. I'll place a probe in the flowering chamber tomorrow when I'm back at the property. The temp in the veg chamber ranges from 65F to 83F Never over that though. This is because I installed two fans on the veg side. The designer deemed it not necessary. That's a croc. The temps were in the very high 90's. Like 98F. Anywho, there you go. I'll get the exact temp. and post on this thread tomorrow evening. I'll guess it to be about 85F....we'll see. Take care.

Here are the temps.
Veg upper 88.7
Veg lower 74.1
Flowering 77.2

This is what the plants look like after about 18 hours of CFL moved closer to them. Are they still too pale?

Lol? the pic with the 2 rows of cfl's looks like a tottaly different setup, looks good tho however personally i would want a cfl closet to the tops of the plants, mine stay about a inch away but there only 20-42 watts so dont get to hot.

Im so jelous of all your daylights! i cant get hold of any!

I honestly don't think all those cfl's you added on the sides are necessary at this point. You should easily be able to veg those 2 babies under that 135W envirolite. I can veg 6/7 plants under 6 27w cfl's (162w total) to about 8-10" tall without any stretching. I use 1 27w 6500k light per plant for vegging. When they get larger and bushier you need more light/s.

20 days veg in 6 inch pots.
