if she is that young and its just the tips i wouldnt worry about it... in the pics she looks fine.. and healthy.. so as long as growth isnt being affected then there is nothing to worry about..

i would keep on eye on things just to be safe.... its to young to have any defs... if it was older and starting to do that i might suggest the onset of a mg def... but shes too young and the leaves are fine... the other thing i might be is heat... depending on the temps.... if they are in the 80's fairly consistently then it might be that and you could try to lower temps...

but honestly.. i would stress it at all... ive had leaves the curl up and down.... canoe.... gets spots... discolor randomly... ect ect... in the end you have to remember she is just a plant and wont always be perfect... the best thing you can do is let it go.. but keep an eye out for progression of problems (ie, leaves start discoloring) or growth issues (stunting)... as long as your growing good and looks good dont sweat a little curling here and there...

thanx a whole lot man, i thought something was wrong but i do have the temps controlled now, i appreciate all that you've done, happy growing.

Howzit SS420!! I have questions regarding Neem oil mixture application.

I was wondering when is the absolute latest Neem can be sprayed on plants that are in full flower? Is it feasible to spray/mist off plants right before harvest to wash off any Neem (or other chemicals like H202, BT, ...etc.) as a process of 'washing' them off?

whats up farmer... hows it goin?

i personally wouldnt spray plants in flowering after about week 5 UNLESS you have a very strong ventilation and air circulation system...

this is because water will undoubtedly make is way into the buds when you spray... if you dont have good circulation and ventilation the humidity from spraying will be contained within the grow room.. the extra moisture in the air will cause liquids to evaporate slower... this may/can lead to problems like mold/mildew or bud rot... non of which are good...

i personally think at week 5 the buds are still "small" enough to evaporate out the liquids without much problem in most cases... i still recommend having a good vent system (at all times.. not just for spraying) anyways...

now.. if you are having pests problems after week 5 to harvest here are some things you can do..

1) neem oil can be root fed... it will work the same way it does as a spray.. just from the inside out.. and pests do not like the taste of it all.. so it will deter them even further from eating your plants... just add 1 to 2 tbls with each watering until the very final flush.. doing this will not change how your buds taste in the end... so dont worry there...

2) there are some foggers that can be used up until harvest.. normally i would stay away from chemicals and chemical foggers/sprays... but sometimes it is needed... if you do need to fog make sure that the fogger you use is useable on vegetables or other edible crops and that it can be used up until harvest....

you should try to have the pest problem taken care of or at least thoroughly in check before harvest if you can... i wouldnt spray or mist the plants with anything to "wash off" whatever you use.. it wont be needed if you use the right stuff...

http://homeharvest.com/insectspraystotalreleasefoggers.htm this can be used safely up to 2 days prior to harvest.. make sure you get the correct size can for the area you are fogging.. dont over do it...

if i can help out anymore feel free to ask...

its hard to tell you an exact date...

but basically once you see growth start to slow/stop

or

if you put drain holes in the bottom or the cup, once you see roots growing from them...

well, i had to repot them in 8 inch pots, 2 are showing they're fourth leaves and the other 3 are showing the 3rd, i water them every 3 days about a half a cup of water each, should i start with the fertilizer or just wait till they all have the fourth set, and is that too much water?

Yo whats up everyone! I have a few questions here...1st how do you know when to harvest? My plant has been looking the same for about a week now with about 70% pistil color (orangish). Pretty much all of the pistils on top of all the colas, especially the main cola are still white. It has been about 70 days from seed and I'm just freaking out about when to cut it down. I have the book by SeeMoreBuds "grow 8 oz's of bud for less than $100" and he stopped watering his plant about 10 days before harvest. Now, he was using photoperiod seeds when I am using autoflower (easy ryder). I'm just kinda using the book as a guide. The problem is that I am still watering the plant at 70days when he actually stopped at day 59. I would of stopped with the watering 10 days before day 70-75 but like I said I'm only using the book as a guide an really didn't pay attention to that part about him giving the plant the last of water. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the pistils changing color, like if i stopped giving the plant water, will it make those pistils turn the orange I'm looking for (I know not the whole plant needs to turn orange only about 80%-85% but still want those pistils on the top of the colas to turn)? It exactally day 72 today and I stopped the water and was going to give it about 5 more days to see if the pistils will turn for me. I'm pretty sure that I'm safe with leaving it in there for a bit longer but it has been about a week and not much pistil color has changed on the plant. What do you guys think, this is my 1st grow by the way. Also, by touching the plant, can the THC get in your system because I have a test today and dont want to fail because its been about a month since I last smoked and didn't want there to be some way the THC to get in my system by touching it haha. Thanks!

cool, i figured it was something simple, dam! how many times did you have a successful grow?
i think this is grow 7.... or 8.. one of the two.... they've all been sucessful in that i got a harvest (except one because my plants got stolen)... but they havent always been great.. each better than the prior.. but i have always be riddled with stupid issues... it seems that the new room i have my grow in is much better tho...

well, i had to repot them in 8 inch pots, 2 are showing they're fourth leaves and the other 3 are showing the 3rd, i water them every 3 days about a half a cup of water each, should i start with the fertilizer or just wait till they all have the fourth set, and is that too much water?
as far as watering goes just let it go from wet to dry.. thats the main thing.. make sure the soil is thoroughly wet when you water... and it drys out before you water again... how much you need to use will depend on the size of the pot or course.. and how often will depend on how much the plants drink and how much evaporates out... as long as you arent seeing signs of over watering (sagging plant) then your good...

as far as nutes go i normally would wait until you see yellowing of the leaves to suggest starting them.. although you are probably fine to start out 1/4 strength applications... start out feeding every other watering with nutes and see how they react... increase amount over time.. if you see signs of nute burn back off the amount and just water with plain water a couple times.. if the nute burn is bad flush with 2 to 3 times the amount of water as the volume of the pot...

hey bro...

so i will try to answer your question the best i can...
first pistils mean very little when planning a harvest... you want to go by the color of the trichromes (thc crystals).... they will go from clear to milky to amber

in order to see these you will need a microscope... a 20x would be plenty to see well...

there are a couple times to harvest.. the first time is when the trichs are just going from milky to amber... harvesting when about 10% of the trichs of amber will give you more of a cerebral high... if you wait until they are about 50/50 milky/amber you will get more of a body high... and waiting until they are about 90% amber will give you a "couch lock high"....

now i checked and easy ryders take about 9 weeks from seed... so there is a very good chance that your girl is ready to go.... you wont know for sure unless you look under a microscope...

but... if she looks done.. where she has a little bit of an orangeish tint to her.. and the pistils are starting to receed into the buds.. thats a good indicator that its done without having to use a microscope...

they continue to grow some... but not throughout the entire flowering period... and only if there is additional space for them to grow... if you have a 3 gallon pot that is a giant root mass and no where for them to grow then they wont.. but if you transplanted into a 5 gallon or larger pot they would expand and more than likely fill out the given space...

but when the flowering process begins and the roots have no where to grow doesnt that hurt the buds and or yield?
yes and no......

in some situation there is not such a thing as root binding... in hydro applications, aero applications, and applications where there is a drip feed, it makes it possible for the plant to get everything it needs without having to have a huge root system... both water and nute wise... the operator of these types of systems can get the same results with a smaller pot size as other growers with larger pots..

usually with soil bigger is better.. the more space the roots have the more water and nutes it can absorb... its hard to keep soil wet enough to give the plant as much as it can use without risking problems like root rot in smaller pots... so larger pots tend to work better....

make sense at all??

no prob... glad to help.. enjoy your harvest!

yeah.. you can.. assuming that the room you have them in is the room you are going to use from start to finish... then you will have to flower them before they get to big anyways... so you will have more than enough room..

now if you plan on vegging them out for a few weeks and then flower you may have issues... but i wouldnt worry about it...
