What Organic High Potassium do you Use?

Ive always noticed how there arent any high K organics really. And not many fast acting either. I guess theres some good liquid kelps these days. ANd I guess you could use full strength if you want higher K%. And good ol Sul Po Mag, more of what I call natural, instead of organic.

one of the simplest, and strongest, is good old wood ash
i use a tablespoon in 2 quarts of feed, only downside is it can be too strong, a little goes a long ways

Thats true, Ive always been to scared of the alkalinity. I guess now that IM not using my hard tap water anymore I could. And Im not in the clay alkaline soil, im in potting soil.

Kelp is where the K is at. I have EJ meta-k and its 0-0-10. ingrediants: sulfate of potash.
For now on i'll be using kelp in the dirt and one of my organic liquids for extra K.

I dont think Bone has any K in it. and molasses does have some K in it. (i would not use molasses as my only K though.)

For myself with my needs I see nothing wrong with using molasses as my only source of K for feeding during flowering. At the bare minimum with only using high phosphorus guano & molasses will get me through with great results.

I know a few old timer backwoods growers who don't use anything else.

Sometimes less is more ;)

Mookie how much of both would you use? I was wondering how much K is readily available in the molasses, I suppose it seems water soluable.

I'm not a scientist nor a chemist so I can't give you an exact # of how much K is in molasses without looking it up. Molasses is very water soluble.

A simple way is 1/2 tablespoon unsulphured molasees with 1.5 tablespoons high p guano to 1 gallon of chlorine free water. Shake it up & feed that to your plant every other feeding during flowering. the in between feedings during flowering will be just straight chlorine free water. It's that simple

this is pretty much the quantity i use for my teas
i have seen others that go up to 2 tbsp per gallon and more
i have also seen some say their heavy molasses use f'd up their bud with bad taste
molasses is pretty rich in iron, and some other trace minerals, so some caution on far you go might be sensible

Glad to know my simple way is close to your tea :) I don't know about molasses making herb taste bad. The ratio I use hasn't done any damage. I just do this up until 10days before harvest & then from there on out it's straight water. No flush!!
I don't use chems so there is nothing to worry about. Smooth tasting organic herb after slow dried.

my teas are pretty simple too, just bone meal and molasses
i've had nothing but great taste from my molasses use
but then we are aren't using that much
the extra punch of iron gives me pause, i could see extra iron causing a pretty nasty taste

I think Ive seen molasses NPK is supposedly like 2-0-5, I just meant how much do mix in, which you told me thank you! How often do you normally give it? You are saying every other watering? And thats all you would give? Just making sure I hear you right.

I was thinking if I try my guano again Im gonna use it kinda the opposite, maybe 1.5 Tbs molasses 0.5 tbs guano. I think I managed to kill my plants with it by giving them 1 Tbs a few times during flowering, and a tbs of a 0-10-10 a few times during flowering. Maybe a few other things too. And water with high TDS sealed the deal. Heres the thread if you feel like giving a shot at guessing how the hell I sabotaged my grow so bad. Ive been vomiting this link all over RIU trying to get advice so what the hell.

Actually thats why Im asking about high K sources, I read a very good article about NPK ratios and I wanna make sure P is not my highest ratio, it should be my lowest according to what I read. Pasted it on the thread in link above.

That's how I do it & really no problems. I just don't pour out the sediment from the guano into the soil. Whatever settles back to the bottom of the gallon container when the container is empty gets dumped outside on the lawn. Another easy way is to just top dress your soil with 4 tablespoons of guano the first day of flowering & then feed by mixing 1 tablespoon of molasses to a gallon of chlorine free water & feed that every other feeding then when 30days of flowering has past top dress your soil with 4 more tablespoons of the high p guano & repeat feeding schedule like you did the first month of flowering. :peace:

i have read a few post that to much molasses make your bud taste crap and its not a clean smoke either. i would use kelp or small amount of wood ash to be on the safe side for a decent smoke.

My friend then you have read wrong. I grow 100% organically, from soil to nutes, I'm one of those disciplined growers who doesn't need the use of ph meters or ph adjusters (whats that ?) Being a connoisseur who has been smoking for 26years I can honestly tell you that molasses has had no effect on taste. If you know how to grow organically & know how to use organic nutes, you will find yourself never flushing your garden out before harvest. The marijuana will taste delicious 7 to 10days after drying. Now just think if you cured already delicious tasting herb :peace:
