ok..so i decided to grow myself a plant. i have never done it before, tho i do grow plants in my house and in the garden so i figure how hard could it be. so i am including a picture of my plant that i have grown. just yesterday i was reading on "pruning" the plant..so i did that yesterday. i dont do anything special to this little plant. i planted the seed, put water in the pot every now and then, set it in the window..alternating throughout the day, and thats about all. my question is..does the plant look ok? how in the heck do you get the plant to flower? i have read that it needs 12 hours of darkness to flower?? but i think it gets that at night. sooo just wondering if anyone could just give a few tips..im not looking to do anything special, just wondering if this plant will produce any bud without doing special crap to it, if thats the case i should give up..im a stay at home mom of 2 kids and i dontView attachment 1024055 really have time to mess with it to much..although would be happy to have a little homegrown. thanks so much in advance!View attachment 1024054

your a fucking spamming joke.
WTF you gotta come in here and start shit about what can and can't be done. Didn't you get enough of that crap in the 43 day thread. Dudes got pics in his profile. And I don't think 40 posts in a year qualifies as a spammer? No one asked your opinion anyway so if don't ya don't have anything productive to say, BOUNCE!

Hey jenna, welcome to RIU. Unfortunaly I do not believe your pics will be able to be seen till you get a few more post(10, I think). Browse through the forum to get your post count up. Don't give up, but I don't think you will get much just sitting on a window sill. You could always put the girl in a closet at nite to get true darkness for the 12/12 cycle.

Peace

No problem jen, just make sure it is a cfl with a 6500k spectrum. A 42w if you are just gonna use the one lamp would be best. Plant looks pretty good for just the window.

peace

What I would do is keep them in front of the window and put them in the closet as soon as it gets dark, I would still put a light in the closet with a timer on it and have the light turn on when the sun comes up and whenever you wake up just put it back in front of the window. I hope this makes sense I am terrible at explaning things

I have to transplant because of my plants are so severely root bound, not to mention they have fungus gnats, which I need to get rid of. But the problem is that I am late into flowering. Like very late. But they haven't advanced a bit since week 8. Only 2 have finished up because they grew shorter and had a lesser infestation, and 1 is slowing down. 1 I flushed today, and will chop in 10 or so days. But the rest need to be transplanted if I ever want them to finish. Will transplanting them in this stage going to do more damage than good? I have trees ranging from 4 1/2' to 6' and branches so heavy they are breaking, but the hairs are almost entirely blond still and the buds aren't as dense as the 2 that are finishing on time.

Also, they are in grow bags, so I can just slice the bottoms of them open and place them in buckets if I had too.

You won't do much damage if you handle them with care...GL!

I have plants at 50 days of 12/12 and Powdery Mildew Problem. I ordered Pro-Tekt, but it's 4-5 days off. I tried some Neem Oil but seemed to be no help.
Should I harvest a bit early?

I should have started my own thread but i dont boast the point "ask me anything" and if anyone wishes to start a thread for newbie questions then i can back them up but this thread is all over the place. It was started by "streetlegal" then "riddeme" took over and i dont mind helping but it gives me little credit for doing so.
Hey man, I am new to RIU and am looking for somebody I could possibly try and get some feedback from. If you still check this page, and dont mind helping me, let me know.

Thanks man

If you look on page 2 of this thread there is a conversation about some guy having a ringing problem with his light and streetlegal who started this thread responded by asking if it was sort of a buzzing sound it wasn't that guys problem but i think thats what might be wrong with my 1000 watt ballast. he said it was quiet a normal thing but really shouldn't happen. I was wondering how many of you have ran across this problem and if it is ok to continue to run. I had it on for like 10 mins and nothing bad happen it just continued to buzz. the best way i could put it would be when your out late a night or early in the morning and you hear the electric and telephone wires buzzing. would really like to know if i can keep using this or if i have to get another. it's a 150 dollar switchable ballast doesn't seem like it's going to explode or anything like that. seems well constructed but didn't think this would happen in the first place anyway. It happened after i turn off the surge strip it was connected to. Any help will be appreciated thanks.
