How long does it generaly take for an indica to start her growth spurt once the lights are put on a 12/12 cycle?

The reason i ask is: i have a new strain that i never grew before and I put her in my flower box last week and she only grew about 1/4". do indica's take longer to kick in or did i just get that lucky?

I always grew sativa and only blueberry(in soil) and day two of the 12/12 switch and they take off growing. now I am also growing bubblelicious and wonder woman from nirvana and she(bubbles) hasn't taken off, which i like! I'm also growing wonderwoman for the first time and she has grown a little bit more and i know that is a hybrid mix.

does this sound normal?

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? ;)

Seriously, I'm getting ready to undertake a small micro-grow. I need to use CFL's due to space and temperature considerations. What is your opinion on the best overall spectrum for this type of set-up?

Edited to add - I will be cultivating auto flowering LR#2's

Here are my Q's ( I made a thread but no one has replied yet)

I am thinking of doing the Sea of Green Theory... where you grow a lot of small plants and cycle or flower very very early to get mostly all top buds and quick yeild. Has anyone here done this? Any info about this would be great.

I want to increase my yeild and get a nice set up goin. I am debating on switching to a hydro system but I know nothing of the nutrients and or additives. Any advice on products would be appreciated. I can't decide between the flood and drain system or the single bucket set-ups. Anyone know the Pros/cons between the two?

Also I would like to get some new lights! I am thinking HPS, is HPS ok for both phases or would t5 for VEG and HPS for flowering be better? Are there any agreed upon best lights out there?

Im looking for a dependable seed bank, I saw Nirvana but are there any in the states? How is Nirvana?

Any good threads out there I shouldn't miss?

Thanks,
D

Im a little new at this and just made a small flood and drain system. I have my seeds wraped in a damp paper town in a plastic dixie cup. Been there for a day about 80 degree F in the room. I have some rockwoll coming, along with pH testers, and i got some distilled water at home. What nutrients do i need to put in the water or solution to mix in? What is PPM? After my plants begin to grow in the rockwoll, what do I move to? From what ive gathered a plastic pot with clay balls. What lights do i need? I have a HPS already ( handed down to me ), but do I need a MH too? How long of cycles do i run the lights, and if i need both when do i switch bulbs? What the flowering / Veg stage? I was considering buying a LED to save money ( long term of course ), but havnt really seen anything in the articals ive read about LED's and growing. What bulbs would be a viable option for a smaller set up like mine LED and Non led ( 2' by 2' around 4" deep )? How long / often do i need to have my flood and drain system set to run? What should i add to my shopping list for when i go to the hydro shop, the people that work there know as much as me :/...

Sorry about all the guestions, but this is just the thread i needed! Thanks for the time.

Get and LED, use it for veg.. and when flower time comes use both LED and HPS!

Im looking at bulbs now and was told 6500K for veg. There are 23, 27, 32, and 105 W with varying Lumens ( what a lumens?... ). Does the Watts matter? Would it hurt for me to go cheap and save 4 bucks to drop 5 watts?

Lumens are basically the measurement of light in which your plants take in the more lumens the better. When it comes to led you don't want to short.yourself pay the strange for those 5 watts cause it will.pay off

Greetings
We have appx. 21 plants in various stages of sprouting & growing. The majority of them are 4-7 or so nodes and have been "above ground" for about 5 weeks.
Whilst chilling with some friends yesterday, I was told I could get them to sex much earlier by throwing them under 24/0 for 1-3 days. After that point the boys get terminated and you can go back into veg until the time is right. The Spouse thinks this is bullshit, I know this guy though and think he knows what he's talking about. BTW there are 19 Bagseeds, 1 Applejack, and 1 Kandy Kush if you're curious. They all had some trouble @ the start but I think we're out of the woods.
What do you think of this 24/0 thing? I've seen it discussed before.
Cheers!

it's BS! the only way you can see the sex of the plant is a 12/12 cycle. some plants show a preflower during veggingthis will also prove female.

does it boost yield to use supplement blue light (like MH) during flower?

sub question, have you tried the super red bulbs for the last two weeks of flower.. supposed to produce more resin?

Blue bulbs are only used.in veg because it makes the foliage grow. But the red spectrum makes that resin flow. The super red bulbs are excellent can see the diffrenceand yes u can't see the sex unless 12/12

If wanting to grow indoors does the season matter? For instance does the plant have to start growing in spring even though external variables i.e. humidity, temperature, lighting can be controlled.
