Begging stages of root rot. They will start dieing soon and turn brown and slimy. I just got root rot on a Og Kush #18 a mother i had for 3 months now. I changed the water every 3 days 2.5 gallon put in 35% H2O2 5ml per gallon with 3ml per gallon of SM-90. I also got the house and garden root excel. after about 2 and a half week i finally beat it. took off all the dead root and got nice long shiny white roots again. The trick is consistency. Im sure there's plenty of other way but this one work and i know from experience.

it's brown algea, it's a bitch. I have used bleach to kill it. And as a last resort one time i transplanted into dirt for a full recovery.

you need to try to find a way to clean them without damaging the roots, root rot will take over and kill the plant, you need to make you you nute balance is correct and that you are not getting ANY light through your medium into your water.

ok i really dont think its root rot ive had that on a couple other plants before and when they got it, it started as a brown slime so im going to go with the other. algae, so regular bleach in the res? do ihave to change the water first

I would change the water,,run cool tap water through the roots, chlorine only stays in the res 24 hrs, so ya have to do it everyday. I tried physan 20 but all it did was make a huge soapy mess. Pet stores carry a uv light that is suppose to kill it also. If it starts looking really bad transplant to dirt. I know for a fact that will kill it.

I have tried this and i was throwing good money after bad at it. I bought physan 20, hygrozyme, took almost a month and still nothing. If it worked for you , that's great, bleach was a lot cheaper.
Umm have you ever read it. Its a way to kill it with bleach smart one. It doesn't mention ANYTHING about physan20, hygrozyme or anything you have to buy for big money.

i did ready it and have read several other on algae, it does talk about adding enzymes. 35% peroxide, 20 bucks, enzymes another 20 bucks, bleach is only a buck a gallon.

go get HYGROZYME it will fix this right away.or get some H2O2 this will keep it from happening again. if you use DWC make sure you have alot not a little air.I use an air compressor it puts out 100x the air one of those cheap pumps.and I use to air stones too what kind of nutrients are you using? because I've never seen this happen with General hydro products!
also what is the temp of your nutrient solution?

hygrozyme is more of preventive measure, will not fix it. h202 will not stop it from happening. I use gh products , a chiller, 35 % h2o2 and have had it happen several times. hygrozyme is junk in my opinion.

it's going to take almost 2 weeks to recover, i would go straight into dirt, i thought you were still in veg.
if i transplate to soil can i use the same nutes i have or do i have to pick up new ones?
will i shock the plant to transplate at this stage?

yes you can use the same nutes, but the plant is already in shock it is starving, i would foil feed, just not spray it on the buds as much as possible. try not to get a time release soil..it will have too much nitrogen which u don't need. Don't pull it out of the net pot just bury the whole thing. You can dig it out later after you harvest.
