Grow #2: Green House Seeds Jack Herer & Nirvana Snow White 600w DWC

So this will be, what i hope, my second succesful grow, Greenhouse seeds Jack herer and Nirvana Snow White. I plan to grow 3 of each and keep 1 of each for motherplants(I'm planning on going perpetual). I bought my JH seeds from amsterdam while i was there at the begining of nov '10. I put 4 of them into paper towel today at around 19:30(I plan to give 1 seed to a friend for a PC case grow). I've got to sort out the snow white seeds from nirvana but i'll do that in the next couple of days. I think a prolonged veg period for the JH wont do it any harm. So my grow consists of;

1x Secret Jardin 100
2x 300w CFL (for veg)
1x 600w HPS (for Flower)
1x 50L res tank (to hold 2 plants probably JH)
1x 25L res tank (to hold 2 plants probably SW)
1x Dual outlet Air Pump
2x 12" Air stone
1x Advanced Nutrients Micro
1x Advanced Nutrients Grow
1x Advanced Nutrients Bloom
1x Advanced Nutrients Cal/Mg Grow

I plan to make a small veg room for the seedlings (and later clones) and the mother plants (when they are ready). I am going to have to pull my finger out though they are going to need to go in there in a couple of days. I am currently 22 days from harvest on my Nirvana NL AF (check sig).

So i just purchased my nirvana SW, should be here in around 7-10 days hopefully.

Started my makeshift veg room out of a cardboard box and lined it with 80gsm white paper. In doing this i broke one of my 300w CFL's. Its fucked me off big time, gonna have to replace it if i want one for veg and one for mother plants/clones and one to veg under. I'll get some pics up when the seeds sprout tap roots.

Cheers for dropping by Beaver, How far along is your white russian? and GHS Super Lemon Haze won back to back cups didn't it? as for AN, i think they work well but it's all i've ever used so i cant compare it against anything.

White Russians are about 22 days in Flower they are a slow flower , they are monsters because I let them Veg for about 9 weeks.

9 WEEKS!! they must be massive!! how much are you expecting to harvest?...At least 4-5 zips a plant surely?

Yeah just a old small walk in closet in one of the spare bedrooms in my house. I just lined it with Reflectix but That shit acts as a insulator too. Got a 1000W HPS to flower , 30,000 Lumen T5 for veg cooling the 1000W HPS with a 675 CFM Fan, Carbon Filter - 430 CFM Fan . All is well but next time I wont Veg a indica strain for longer than 6 weeks.

So i have 4 beans in paper towel at the moment 3 of which have sprouted tap roots. I have to get some net pots over the weekend ready for the ladies to go into next week. Apart from that there is not much else to report. I'll post some pics when the fourth one cracks.

Hey Moosh. I really like your setup ideas. Love the two 300 watt cfls for veg. Bummer that you broke one, those things are expensive! Are your cfls 300 actual watts or are they 300 equivalent watts? How many lumens do each produce? Where did you buy yours? Just asking as I use cfls and I am always on the look out for better and larger cfls. I buy mine from 1000bulbs here in the states. I use the 105 watt cfls b/c they give me 68 lumens per watt.

How was the trip to Holland? Any pics to share ? I cant believe you were in Holland and order seeds from Nirvana. I guess you just love paying for shipping. But then again, I'm sure you weren't in your right mind while in Holland lol. I've heard good things about SW strain, so it will interesting to see how those turn out for you. I'm also interested in JH from Greenhouse. I was thinking of growing this strain myself. Good luck on the new grow. Subed.

Cheers for dropping by Cryp. I think the lights work well but i dont have anything to compare against. Yeah its really got me pissed the light breaking, I'm thinking of getting a dual spec bulb this time. As for expense they were fairly cheap, i got a deal at my local hydro store £69.99 (I live in the uk) for bulb and reflector.

actual/equivilant watts i dont know, when i bought them the fella at the hydro store said they were 300w and the come in plain packaging so i cant read the box either. I'll ask next time i'm in there so i cant really answer about lumens either. sorry bud. But i what i can tell you is that they are nearly the diameter of a paint can.

Well i spent the points nirvana had credited me for the dodgey NL AF, so i only paid p&p which to the uk, is nominal.

I've heard good things about SW strain, so it will interesting to see how those turn out for you. I'm also interested in JH from Greenhouse. I was thinking of growing this strain myself. Good luck on the new grow. Subed.

Yeah i have read good things about SW cant wait for them to turn up. As for GHS JH they dont share the same genetics as sensi seeds JH. Sensi JH is listed as having 3 sativa dom pheno's and 1 indica, I'm not sure of the genetic make up but I'm sure NL#5 is in there some where. GHS JH is listed as a indica and its genetics are haze x red skunk. The JH i smoked in the dam was listed as an indica so I'm hoping the stuff I'm growing is the same stuff i fell in love with.

So 3 outta the 4 seeds in the towel that have sprouted have gone into rockwool under the 300w CFL. I stuck the last seed in the paper towel i case one thats in there doesnt crack. I'll get some pics up tomorrow

If they are as large as a paint can then they prob are 300 watts. It prob produce 50 lumens per watt, so its puts out about 15000 lumens. In any case, they will do a great job for you in veg. I wouldnt go with a multi spec light (4100k spec) as thats the HPS MH conversion bulb. You can buy that way cheaper than one cfl and get way more lumens from it. You could go with a 5000k spec as studies have shown that 5000k works as well as 6500k. I say go with the cfls with the whitest light you can get. Thats were the advantage is in using cfls in veg.

As far as the JH goes, its a hybrid of skunk, haze and NL. Greenhouse more than likely infused/crossed their skunk and haze with NL#5, then took those two hybirds and make the JH. Its a smart way to go as you can tame the haze plant to be more indica to produce a smaller compact plant. That being said, I wouldnt be suprised to see your plants grow to five feet or so lol. But thats shorter than the Sensi or Nirvana version for sure.

What other strains did you try from Greenhouse? They have a few I want to try, so I would be interested in what you thought of them. Thanks, and cheers mate.

I was talking about a Dual Spectrum CFL, they stock them also in my local hydro store, right upto 300w so i would just probably buy the bulb because I've already got the reflector, I would use this purely for veg so i would have one 6500k and one with both 2700k and 6500k filaments (Dual Spec). I think this will work well in the veg/mother room.

Yeah i think we were unlucky on those nirvana AF seeds, we shouldn't of let ourselves be guinea pigs but their photoperiod seeds get great reviews through out RIU so I'm fairly confident on this grow.

I'm hoping it is indica dom i prefer a couch lock stoned I hope they dont grow that high, i may ScrOG this grow, I was goin to ScrOG my last grow but it got savaged my friends dog and i didnt want to stress the plants even more.

This is the first time I've grown any GHS strain so i cant comment but thier super lemon haze looks nice. Also i wouldn't mind growing thier K-Train.

My buddy grows their super silver haze and he loves it , also I hear nothing but good things about their "Great White SHark".. On a side note I had nothing but success with Serious Seeds.

I wouldn't mind a smoke report on thier super lemon haze, sounds fresh and citrus. I smoked both lemon haze and super silver whilst in amsterdam earlier in the month and really like the buzz, but didnt like the harsh toke of haze's.

So I've been to busy and/or stoned to post an update. I stuck the last seed in with the one that was taking its time to crack and now they have bothed cracked and now I've got one plant more than i need so i dont know if i'm gonna grow it or give it away (i'm hoping to give it away). The two seeds are now in rockwool and under the light. The lights are on 18/6 at the moment.

I think i may have the lights to far from the plants and they have proper stretched so i moved the plants closer to the light and hopefully this will stop it. Apart from that not much else to report, i'm still waiting on the snow white from nirvana but i'm not expecting them untill the end of the week or begining of next week. Any way here they are.

hi im in the uk on the 300w cfls i have the 250 ones an they say 19,500 lumen also i wanna watch your ghs jack herer got some as well there quite short an stocky lbut they are only 3 weeks old
