Global warming is no hoax. The hoaxsters are those that deny it. Give it a few years and see if the weather doesn't get gnarly. I'm pretty sure you'll come to the same conclusion that the majority of climate scientists already have, we're fucked.

So says your half, the other half of the scientists say that if man ceased to exist that the temps would fall by 13/10,000 of 1 degree. Humans are not the cause of Global weather phenomenon/climate change/global warming/cooling/algoreism

Bullshit, there I said it, pure unadulterated bullshit, that is the crap of the wealthy that want to keep spewing out their garbage with abandon, drive their SUVs, live in huge houses and live like the jonses. I surely don't know the solution with China and India coming of age, (on our dollars and jobs I might add), They are not willing to give up their new found wealth and comfort either, so we'll just have to wait and see. I have a thousand bucks that says within 50 years, without any changes, this planet will be barely inhabital. The planet will be alright, it will just shrug us off like a dog shedding fleas, but humanity will be hurting for certain.

Well the very wealthy might be driving their SUV's , but my Camry will probably not get driven much. Have you seen the price of oil lately? How long you think it will take to reach $150 a barrel again? I will give it until July. Soon only the wealthy will be able to afford Petrol. High Energy Prices ensure people use less of it.

BTW concerning your bet, are you going to place the $1,000 into a trust so that when you are proved wrong someone can collect? Because in 50 years you will have probably been worm food for 30+

There are truths to this global warming issue that are just laughable.

If we do everything the scientist say and spend TRILLIONS of dollars on wealth redistribution to prevent the buildup of CO2... The scientists BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION say it will affect temperatures by a fraction of one degree over the course of 50-100 years.

Why does everyone gloss over that? The scientists are saying that if we do everything we can it wont have any significant effect whatsoever. HELLO!!! WHY ARE WE DOING THIS AGAIN???

The climate is, has and will continue to change. Does anyone dispute that?

Our impact on the CO2 levels in the atmosphere do not amount to more than 5% of the total CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. Does anyone dispute that?

Everyone wants to save the planet. It is a noble cause. And for the people that tend to forget, the environmental standards we have in the US today are cleaner and better than they ever have been. We had rivers that were so dirty in the last century that they caught on fire. That doesnt happen anymore. We had companies dump their waste directly into the water supply. That doesnt happen anymore...

Exactly, and probably most of the posters on this site will be also, It was in Jest. First I'd have to find a thousand bucks, I'm one of the "poor", but actually I'm in the top 1% of wealthy folks on the planet. I drive a 7 year old full size pick up. I get 10-12 MPG in town and 18-20 on the road. I have 21,000 miles on the truck, not even broken in yet. That's about 3,000 miles a year, much less polution than say a Honda accord that gets 25 MPG in town and drives 30,000 miles a year, wouldn't you agree? My solution to my polution is drive less. If I were to trade my truck for a new car, the polution made to make the car would be far more than what I'd gain over the rest of my life. I do a number of things to lesson my Carbon footprint, and hell yeah, BP needs to make their money back, they have screaming investors, 150-250 is not unfathomable. PS., I'm thinking I may grow to like you as a person, even though our views sometimes hit the 180* mark.

How about that hole in the ozone? I thought we would all be burned up by the sun by now. We nearly destroyed the refrigeration industry, and i believe the hole is about the same size. o yea, eggs are gonna kill us, then they are not, and now they will again. The world is flat! I am just wondering about the things we were taught in school about the ice ages and the natural cycles of the planet, that's all bullshit cause mr. gore says so.

Actually the hole in the ozone has repaired itself and due to that... THE CO2 IN THE ATMOSPHERE HAS INCREASED!!! Yep, we nearly destroyed the refrigeration industry to add additional problems to the new CO2 disaster... How do ya like them apples?

Well that is really great for you and all, but what about the people who dont have that option?

Truckers? Cab Drivers? Realtors? Construction Workers?

There are millions of people who simply cannot change their driving habits to suit a green agenda. And those trades and professions are hurt by punative taxes designed to reduce driving. And if those taxes are reflected in the price of gasoline then everyone pays again as the shipping industry has to pass the costs of all merchandise shipped by road and/or rail on to the consumer.

We agree global warming is real. We disagree that a bunch of eggheads with a gazillion taxpayer dollars can fix it and more importantly, if it SHOULD be fixed.
