one more question for someone knowledgable in this area.
will dechlorination of my tap water with sodium thiosulfate products kill my soil microbes/mycorhizae.?i heard that sodium thiosulfate is sometimes used as an antifungal.
i know that i can remove chlorine by bubbleing air through water and or letting it stand for 24 hours. but im not sure if my tap water is treated with the increasingly used and infamous (chloramine) which cannot be remove in that manner. and i know chloramine and chlorine will kill my microbeasts.any advice would be great. thanks
I think thats why you add Cal Mag is it a RO thing why not just let your water sit out for 24 hours with an airstone?

When I used to work on saltwater tanks we would treat the water with a conditioner to remove chloramines. It didn't kill them (the fish) maybe it would work here?

Is there a test to measure chloramines? Are you sure they are even there? Is there any problems with your plant?

The amount of chloramine left in h2o after allowing chlorine to off-gas is not going to be significant enough to hurt the microflora. You are adding the water to DIRT!! The chloramine is there in amounts that will help if organisms find their way into the water system but it is by no means a sterilizing solution. If chloramine was that powerful and abundant, you wouldn't need to use disinfectants in your bathroom, just tap water.

Come on people, use some brains here. Any chloramines left in your water are overwhelmed by the amount of organic material in your soil.

The only reason you need a chloramine remover is because fish gills get irritated by the compound but no one thinks that there is enough to harm the biological filtration in the tank.

chloramine can only be removed with a carbon filter.
I was lead to believe the same thing. I use the small boy carbon filter and when i presented this question concerning chloramine killing my microbes to the guys at the local grow store. they had an aftermarket filter that you can use with your existing filter that eliminates any chlorimines.

Food grade de can kill good or beneficial insects as well as bad ones. Indoors I don't want any insects because I grow at home. The plants enjoy the de and it has kept problems like ants and gnats outta my garden. Outdoor I won't use DE

so i was checking out the subcool seeds online the other day cuz i wanted to try the tga strains in my supersoil, but i couldnt find fem seeds. is there a certain reason why they dont come feminized. or are they meant for people to have the choice to breed ? am i just gonna have to take the extra time and seeds to sex them and what not?

fem seeds have a potential for hermie. reg seeds do to, but chances are vastly minimized and typically dependent on the grower. imho, the best phenos and plants come from reg seeeds, not femmed.
