How many more weeks should i vegg? - LST

You can tie the offshoots if you want to have complete control. But, they will naturally try to grow up and around the main stem and reach for the light. Also, eventually they will hold their shape. They will lift, but mostly remain in the same configuration when you untie them. SCROG is kinda what your doing, but without the screen.
It will all in the end result in a plant with multiple colas and bud to smoke, they are all just different ways to get there.
I'm just saying, your taking the hard way to get there and you don't have to do it that way. There is an easier way. But your not completely wrong either.

But, truthfully, if this is your first plant.... Just let it grow. You can compare the bottom to the top and see if theres a difference. Since its LST there really won't be a bottom and top, but a this side and that side if you continue a circle with the LSTing. But, I would focus your effort on the main stem and bending that and keeping that at an equal level around the edge of your pot, and the plant will naturally make the lower branches stronger and taller thus creating your additional colas.

Well what do you mean taking the hard way?; by tying them down instead of just letting them grow from the shoots (not needing to tie them down in the first place)? what would you have done in the first place? i'm considering returning my 150hps(all i had the $ for at the moment) for a 400w hps(i'm sure much better?) and yes and no, i tried (with shitty soil) some bubba kush and raw diesel and those went to hell as the cheap soil probably suffocated them and they were never seen again, but this is my first official grow that has made it past germ, seedling, and sprout stages :D

how long you suggest i allow it to continue veggin?

and wow, see i figured the grow shop was just much lesser crap for more $ and flashy pics- by compare top and bottom you mean?- so give me a complete (been looking but cant find a real simple lst explanation, just some kids doing it on yt and crap else where), after about 9-18inches bend them over? and just let the branches do what they do? is it necessary to tie the side shoots or not, since they will try to cover the main stalk anyway is it a good idea to? i only have 5 feet of grow space so i'm thinking if i topp or lst least i'll get some nice grow, oh and not to mention there's only about 2-3 feet horizontal/width of grow space.

Read the tutorials in my signature!!!!!

Defoliation has it's place when done properly. Removing certain fan leaves during specific times can improve your yield but stripping a plant in veg, not a good idea at all. Read my tutorials, they will explain a lot and there are lots of clear, concise pics

i'm reading the 4 way lst but how did you manage to split them 4 ways when the toppd shoots grow the same ways as the fan leaves? :P

The fans are irrelevant at this stage. Any mention of defoliation above is referring to after the stretch in flower, not veg. To answer you more thoroughly though, the first 2 arms of the "4-way" come from where you topped it and the second 2 are actually the 2 main secondaries. Your secondaries can now rise up and represent to be full blown colas! ;)

....and GOOD question!!

i do that too, i try and 4 way them as early in life as possible....kinda like when a wee lad gets circumcised, it hurts like fuck but he don't remember it cuz he was just so young but then when he gets older he has a nice set of family jewels for everyone to admire and stare at...... LMAO

You have fuked them!! i have 2 plants under 150w CMH, LST, at veg day 40, and thay are 3 foot wide an 3 foot tall, if you get half an oc i will be amazed, why are you cuting them up when useing LST?

also i don't reca reading how far away your light was, maybe overlooked that, but with your 150 you can get that bulb bout 5 inches from them without worries, as long as you have a fan in there also. 150's dont get as much credit as they should, you can do a lot with about 15-16,000 lumens as long as you keep that bulb close!

ive read your tut and its very vague n some areas, they show very little information let alone explain how to get the 4 way shape/figure. and i didn't say anything about defoliating or anything like that. i got sort of an idea on how you may have done it but it rather is vague in some aspects. :p

get the stick out your ass kiddo, grats on what you have but this isn't about you, this is about how many more week should i give my plants that i'm experimenting on- and trying this so called "best tech", seems a little shitty to me in overall aspects and the most time consuming, second, i cut my leaves off to divert energy being used in them to be spread to other necessities like shoots and stalks. it's all over the net and it's what i went off of, i'm not trying to create a rather pointless marijuana tree, just something i can use for my personal use and the experience.

i was told i'd get a quater off this if i flower now and the veg cycle isn't even over yet, still 2 weeks(or maybe 1 more month) left to do it's thangs and i won't be making any more cuts, so i'm reckoning you're going to pretty shocked when i pull more than half a zip out. :)

as explained before i trimmed some of the leaves so that no energy is wasted trying to grow those out (i don't want them to be huge?) and instead to grow my stalks and shoots faster, which seems to be doing the trick ever since i got rid of the unnecessary foliage which i have also read you may trim off whatever is not needed on the plant so there you go :)

as for my lights, no, i just didn't state the unnecessary- they're probably about a foot and half away and that's because i want them to stretch a little and move more so upwards than side(how pots were positioned), and so that more light is distributed throughout my growing space. As for the 5 inches thing, did that, and my WW started fucking up and becming heat stressed and deformed, that in itself is another reason i raised it. i have the 150 that has the built in ballast so it produces some heat if left alone- but there is a fan in there :3

look you can still get 1.5-2oc from them, just let them grow for 3-4 weeks on 16/24 or what ever you are using, what size are them pots? and hows your temps?
And if your light is burning them at 5inches, try keeping it about 8-10" away as they will hardly grow at 18" away. Good luck.

You can put your light as close to your plants as you can. You test by holding your hand in there at the level of the highest foliage on the plant. If the back of your hand is hot or burning, then move your light away, until you can hold your hand there comfortably. If your hand doesn't burn, then the plant won't either.

These are a couple pictures that show the method for getting the 4 tops to LST. It's called either topping or FIMMing (F#$% I missed method). Once you do that and the plant has recovered, then you LST the new growths.

You can LST with minimal tie downs. Your focus on LST is just holding down the main stem, the rest of the plant will follow. If you need to pull the side shoots away from the light so they don't burn thats fine, but tying it all down is just too much work for me.

they've been lowered just to see what kind of difference it'd make, although a light meant for 3x3 canapy penetration doesn't make much sense if their 18inches aay so long their not 3ft+ and out of optimum range.

those pics are just horribly ugly man, esepcailly thoe past pic #4, i've untied the rest of my shoots and left the main tied down so what now? it seems to be the canopy is slightly even but it seems clutered.
