Yay for alabama

So alabama is checking the citizenship status of every student enrolled in their schools. Basically, a kid has to have a birth certificate, or swear to be a citizen. If the parent wont provide either a birth ceritficate or swear, the kids will be marked as illegal immigrants. Good idea. I mean, it kinda sucks that all of the illegal parents of the children are afraid of being punished, but the schools aren't punishing anyone, just collecting info.

Personally, I dont think they should be allowed in school if they are illegal. Or qualify for state assistance like hella of the kids i went to school with who were illegal. And the DREAM act is straight up bs.

I think they should be allowed in school. This country is made up of immigrants, and many of them have tried their asses off to become legal, but the legal system is setup to prevent this as much as possible. Why should they be further supressed? Your people were once immigrants, or they were native americans, who got forced into reservation by immigrants. It would be different if their was a system that actually allowed them to become legal citizens, but I knew one gent who had been going through the court system for 15 years in an effort to become a legal citizen of this country, and to no avail. I bet its really easy to spout that shit from a position of entitlement. Most of them bust their ass for less then minimum wage just to be in this country. You did nothing for your citizenship. Not a goddamn thing. Was nothing but the luck of the draw. Would you still be saying that if you were the illegal immigrant? I guarantee you that you wouldn't be.

I'm not even interested in the illegal immigrant aspect of this, if this was pushed on me in school I'd be pissed. As I said, not because of the illegal immigrant aspect, I'm obviously not one, but because I shouldn't need to declare my identity. Once you do, you're firmly in the system. Which is last fucking place I want to be...

Funny, my family came over legally. You know whats even funnier? they are breaking the law. Cut and dry. fuck them. I have no problem with people coming to the United states, but they got to do it the right way.
Personally i think the govt should make becoming a citizen easier. Instead of rewarding them for sneaking into the us. Come on now, in any other part of the world, the laws are much harsher than ours for sneaking in and trying to live there.

I have nothing against these people, but I hate the sense of entitlement I ran into when I was in school from these people. They would be like, oh im mexican, I have it so hard blah blah blah, the world hates me because im mexican. Please. Most of them were on some kind of public assistance. why should my parents and eventually me have to pay for you to come here, for your kids to go to school, for them to have welfare and food stamps and to top it off, get hella school programs directed towards them because of the color of their skin, while the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves?

They are a drain on the system. Go fuck up your own country

Says the little girl who speaks out of entitlement.
Yea, you don't have a problem with them, you just don't want them to get educated so they have to keep depending on the system...
Do you even think these things through? And do you really think that you'll pay less taxes if we didn't have any illegal immigrants? Seriously?!!
And you'd be fucking surprised at how hard some of them had it, but being a spoiled child yourself you wouldn't know anything about that. Tell you what, go out into the world, stop depending on mommy and daddy to provide for you before you talk about hardships, something you obviously don't know a damn thing about. drain on our country?! news flash, price of food started going up when they started enforcing immigration laws because thier cheep labor is the reason you don't pay more for food then you do. You speak of something you quite obviously know little to nothing about.

It's total bs what Perry is doing in TX. In-state tuition for illegals. An American citizen from Arkansas, hell a veteran like myself from a state other than TX cannot get in-state tuition in TX. But an illegal? Hell yeah.
They should seal the borders with as many fences and agents as necessary. Enforce existing employment law, and put more teeth in it. No deportations will be necessary. If illegals can't work they won't stay. They got here, they can get back.
I know that seems harsh. But consider the thousands who are legally waiting for their turn.

Illegal immigration is a much bigger problem than most people realize. Especially people from the north.

This is a very good point. BUT, ask a native american what happens if you dont limit immigration. You lose your country. Drive around any southwestern city and you'll see it happening already.
Right now our economy is not in good enough shape to handle the amount of illegal aliens we have here. For every illegal with a job, theres an American without one.
One thing we dont see, is how much money immigrants send back to their familys in their old countries. Hundreds of billions of dollars are sent to asia every year in this manner, helping their economies and hurting ours.
Something needs to be done

None of which would do the work they do in the fields for the amount they get payed, so don't try to sell me that bullshit.

It's a legality question. If someone sneaks into the country, they are predisposed to breaking the law. It's not too difficult to get a green card if you have something positive to offer.

I don't mind paying taxes to support Citizens but I dislike writing big checks to Uncle Sam when the money is used to fund illegals. They can come in legally or not come in IMHO.

One of the first things racist people say- some of my best friends are _insert race they are racist against_. If you weren't, you wouldn't have to keep up with how many are.
Breaking the law? Do you not get high Urca? Oh, its okay for the little white girl to break a law so she can get high, but not a people who are trying to improve their quality of life. But no, not entitlement here. whatever Urca, your racist as hell.

I don't dispute your point. They should pay better for those jobs. I read once that if we all were willing to pay approximately $100 a year more for fresh produce they could do that. I don't know if that is true or not, but I would be willing to pay that.

calling me rascist? thats hilarious. Im far from it. I have a problem with illegal people, not people of a different race. there is a difference. everyone deserves respect, illegal or not. does that mean they deserve to live here if they arent doing it legally? nope.
