Update

Germination started 8/9 and potted 8/11 all 3 up and growing. Aurora Indica has leaves that are a little deformed. Hopefully not an indication of a later problem. I planted 2 of the Auroras a couple months ago but they died. After 2 weeks they were not growing upward. Leaves were growing but barely above soil so I lowered the plants to try and make them stretch for the light. Next day they looked like fresh seedlings someone let fry out in hot sunshine. Perhaps bad seed? The two other plants currently growing are just seeds I decided to use to test soil mixed with coco. I changed soil mixture to which I added a variety of nutes so this is total experiment. Never tried 12/12 and soil quality unknown.

@Remo360 - Yeh you can do that it`s fine just throw them in 12/12 few days after it`s not a race so won`t matter realy just the best 12/12 plant .

@Dr.J20 - Yes you can join just get some pics and I`ll update the roster with you in it .
Alright that's what's up!

i got all 8 to sprout up and they look to be doing fine. the pics are a little tunnel-vision b/c there isn't much room to take pics but they're under a 4bulb quantum badboy and a ufo led. the tent isn't wide enough for the badboy, but i knew i was gonna need a new tent so i'll be picking one up today.

Here we go:
IMG_1396.jpgIMG_1387.jpgIMG_1386.jpgIMG_1388.jpgIMG_1389.jpgIMG_1390.jpgIMG_1392.jpgIMG_1393.jpgIMG_1394.jpg

Not the greatest photo shoot in the world but i was just trying to show some close ups of the girls on they're first day above surface. they all look to be getting a little stretch going but when the new tent gets set up the light management will become easier. that third pic shows just how much i have to angle the badboy to fit it in the tent and the ufo is just something i threw in there to get a light source a little closer. Temps and humidity are right in range (~80F/~60%RH).
Happy to join the competition everyone!

....by the way, speaking of competition, since only three of these are going to be in the competition, what are the rules on when i have to determine which three?

be easy

Thank you, I have been playing with soil mixture for a while. I do not care for perlite and have been tring to use coco for improved protection against overwatering. Soil mixed with coco changes with every watering. Starts off great but seems to compact with every watering and after a few weeks it starts to regect water kind of like dry peat. Fill top of pot with water and it just sits there for several seconds before the soil absorbs water. Coco would be great if one could find a way to effectively use it without expensive nutes formulated for coco. Coco is especially attractive because it can be reused more effectively that all the more popular soil mixes. I only grow a few at a time and like being able to do that for about $3 worth of feed per grow. Hesi or cana products cost is beyond that.

You can grow as many as you like and then later into the comp pic the ones you want entered in if you want . No real rules for selection can enter plants then pull them later just must have three max plants in the competition at a time .

Hahaha I don't know dude! Must be the 12/12, even though this is my first real grow in my sig, I have had many seedlings and under sunlight in the windowstill they go much fatser than this haha my pot is just a small seedling pot! Not going to repot though, I have another plant going that I will repot once its big enough and that will be my next grow, but that's at day 5 under sunlight now, will add it to the cab under 18/6 once my lady is done!

Dunno If more will be joining this class or have joined the other one .

All who want to join just take a pic of setup and pots , give a little detail like strain used etc .

12/12 FROM SEED J . Comp underway you can use different cycle just to germ all your beans if you want because it`s not a race . Keeping track of the date sprouted could earn your entry votes for speed of growth and other things so you can choose to record it or not J.

Peace all thanks for contributing to the thread :) .

First 3 AK's popped on 14. and one more popped today. No signs of magical bagseeds sprouting yet ^^ but I'm not losing my hope yet. It's already been a week since I potted them in peat tabs :P! Took a shot:

I think I'm repotting them into their final homes tomorrow.

Get your act together reppinhigh ! :D
I'm going to repot my seedlings now, but first I'll have to mix my megasoil. Guys what do you think: should I just mix all of the soil with compost, or mix soil with some compost and leave about 3 cm of compost on the bottom of the pots ?

Lol .. Straight into the soil and patience is working well for me takes a while too sprout though . I put compost in the bottom of one of my pots and it worked fine too grew a nice big 12/12 fs plant but it went male on me . This grow I got 5/6 plants female on 12/12 and once they become established they start packing on size fast .

Its a matter of preference for what seems to work. Some plant seedlings burn quite easily and sprout yellow. Most gardening forums recommend compost at the bottom of planting.
Compost is actually a very broad term that can cover everything from a pile of garbage to composted manuer. Here the city will give you all the compost you want free. Problem is, whats in it :?: Yard waste (wood grass plant material of all types) all mixed with treated sewage :o It may be free but it can also be very bad. Common garder store variety of composted manure with humus tends to work well. Check this out, you do not have to read very far to get very good information. Pay attention to what it says about wood.
http://faq.gardenweb.com/faq/lists/organic/2002121127011493.html

I use composted manure with humus. I add about 20% to soil mix. Never had any problems with ph stability but it will compact without sufficient perlite or additive to keep soil light and airy. MJ roots do not like anything wet and compact.

Good luck! Only way to find out what works best is try it for yourself.

Hey calicatt, first of all..... Happy growing to you too ! :P :)
As this is my first grow and I just took a great interest in organics so I thought that maybe you'd be so nice and share some advice regarding Neptune's loove :3 . You see, I have a little pond near my house which is almost overgrown by seaweed and I've planned to use it. I read that it has natural rooting and growing hormones as such but I'm not sure how to serve it :P
I've also been thinking about making some compost tea and stuff, perhaps you're brewing your kids some tea aswell ^^ ?
And sorry to other guys if this got offtopic. So I though that I should entertain you with 2 new nude shots of my babies, you silly pedobears !
