Hello fellow growers!

Seeing how things are coming along In the garden I decided to open a new “Perpetual Journal”.

Just like I explained in my first journal;

The main reason I am making a grow journal is so over the growing period members could please inform/help me with as many tips and constructive criticisms your stoner hearts desire. I am a beginner eager in learning and I have been astonished by some of the knowledge that some users just “spill” in this forum so I cant wait to get started!

I would like to express what I am looking to get out of this grow. I live in sunny California and I am a medical marijuana (MMJ) patient living with another MMJ patient. Legally we are not sure how much our plant limit really is so we will keep it legal with 6 plants. I am not a cash cropper even though I do enjoy quantity, but my main goal is to have high quality medicine and also be able to truly see the genetics of the strains I will be choosing. I really want to see if I will ever be able to grow medicine that I can hands down say “I prefer this over my local dispensary medicine”.
The biggest change with last journal is that I now have two separate tents, once the first grow started I noticed that staggering grows is clearly a smarter option. Didn’t like all the “down time” of having only one grow.

Hello RIU

I formally present you to my second grow.

I had a very rough start with germ I originally wanted to have a very mixed grow using freebies from a past Attitude promo and sadly most of the seeds did not sprout, I do not know what happened I did everything the same way I did last time with a 8/8 germ success rate.

And, well after losing a Cum Laude, Jack Diesel, Critical Hogg and Vintage 2006 I ended up with a still very nice selection or at least some strains that I am very excited with.

4 Cataract Kush - DNA Genetics
2 Kush’n’Cheese - Dinafem Seeds
1 Gigabud - G13 Labs

In their early veg they were a bit stunted didn’t really get the T5 in the beginning. In my past grow I didn’t like how fimming went so I decided to try Uncle ben’s topping technique hoping to get some nice 4 colas per plant. This also lets some of the younger ladies catch up in height.

Once topped the plants reacted immediately! The four top branches really grew out, I started to train the ladies opening up the four “colas” to the sides. They are now at the same height with the un-topped plants I’m stoked, one “focus” on this grow is to try and achieve a more even canopy.

We fed them earlier on with some left over Fox Farms and ended up nuking them with way too much Nitrogen. After flushing them a bit I picked up a General Organics - Go box. I’m real excited to see the outcome with these nutes.

We had to keep the ladies in the original 1gal pots for too long, had to use the Flowering tent longer than I thought drying the past crop. They are now in larger 3.4 gal Air pots with Roots Organics soil under a 400W MH. I will keep growing them for another 2 weeks or so and flip them.

After cleaning up the 4x4 tent and transplanting the ladies into air pots with a their first General Organics feed

Hey tonio, I saw those nice even tops spread out and thought of this thread... don't know if you had seen it yet... a pretty cool technique maybe for next time.

Your new journal is really started off well. All the good info and pretty happy plants to boot.
Thank you Jigfresh! I wasn't aware of Main-lining I'm going to look into if for sure, looks like uncle bens method on steroids, I like...

Subbed, We have similar setups other than the grow medium. One question. How do you like the jardin dr120 2? I am considering getting one since my dr90 is just big enough for one plant scrogged. Was hoping to fit 2 plants in it at least, Saw your last grow you had around 6 did you run into any space issues?

awesome stuff multiple tops definitely ups the harvest weight... i also super crop to try to even the canopy. i just got a plant wrangler for my tahoe, cause i have no room to flower it at the moment but need to keep it short cause my next grow is going to be with smaller plants in higher numbers since im running some seed strains the next run.

Where do I start...:wall:

First of all I’m sorry for leaving this so unattended. I’ve been very busy lately haven’t had time for anything, I kind of have a “whenever there is work, work” schedule and well... you know, priorities.

...also what can I say I’ve never had so much weed I’ve been very medicated lately.:eyesmoke:

I’m not pleased with the outcome of my last grow. Yes, I am real happy with the amount “I am sorry I ended up not weighing it”. But of course I don’t feel like I properly flowered them and I am positive that I did not trim right. *NOTE TO SELF: TRIM BETTER THERE IS PLENTY OF WEED*.

But on that note I would like to say that I cannot wait to see how this current grow turns out:weed:. I’ve been growing them longer this time I want to see if I prefer bigger or smaller plants. I have to say that I couldn’t be happier with General Organics - Go box its amazing how much faster they have been growing, this shows me how much I under fed my last grow. I can’t wait to see the difference flowering.

I was stupid thinking that I would have some what an even canopy mixing strains and having topped and un topped plants.:dunce: *ANOTHER NOTE TO SELF RIGHT THERE*. I’m hoping some of the four cola plants end up stretching a bit more and can catch up to the un topped Cataract Kush.

I’m having issues with little mosquitoes in the tent they are flying around the soil:cuss:. Haven’t had time to start investigating around the Internets. Any advice? I just put a glass with dish-soap water next to the pots, have no clue if that will do anything... haha

I also recently purchased a bag of Earth Juice - Bat Guano and Espoma - Bone meal and have no clue what to do with it. I was thinking about topping with some kind of soil mix, any advice? How could I use it to top?

ALL THESE QUESTIONS!!!

03-23-2013 FIRST WEEK OF FLOWER

I began to flower 03-15-2013, there was no “dark period” for any of the plants I flipped the light cycle from one day to another. Following the the go box’s feeding chart made me realize that I cut the “Grow” nutrients off too early.

Today 03-23-2013 I took them out and took some pictures I will start taking better pictures I’m trying to get a small “photo booth” setup.

Cataract Kush - Week 1 Flower
This is the the only Cataract Kush that I topped and it is also the shortest.CATARACT UNCLE BEN.jpg
Cataract Kush - Week 1 Flower
I'm amazed by the size of Cataracts leafs. This sucker has gotten way out of hand but I just don't want to top it I want to see what a untamed main cola looks like.CATARACT KUSH UNTOPPED TALL.jpg
This is what the top is looking like as of right now.CATARACT TOP UNTOPPED.jpg

Gigabud G13 Labs - Week 1 Flower "Attitude Freebie"
I'm real excited about this freebie I've never grown a plant that grows like this she is definetly a hairy one all readyGIGABUD g13.jpg
GIGABUDHAIRY.jpg
Kush'n'Cheese - Week 1 Flower
The kush'n'cheese are growing super vigorously they are both topped with four colas growing out and they are much bigger than the other topped Cataract. I see a more sativa pheno in both of them I really hope I am able to get something that smells like cheese. Quiero queso!KUSH'N'CHEESE#1.jpg
KUSHNCHEESE#2.jpgPlease be cheesy! KUSHNCHEESE LEAF.jpg
I love how everything about using this technique, I really want to main line something big haha.INTERNODES UNDER HPS.jpg
El Jardín- Week 1 Flower
This tent is going to get very crowded QUICK.CURRENT GROW.jpg

Once again I'm sorry that I did not weigh them. I didn't feel happy with the outcome and also left it way too leafy, I had to trim in a rush and it shows.

Kosher Kush - Reserva Privada

I've been smoking this non stop It makes me cough a bit but damn its strong. Not sure if its a "kosher kush" high though... It feels really Narcotic, almost sativa high? Comes in hitting you hard and leaves you hazy for pretty long time.
KOSHER KUSH BUDS.jpg
Cannalope Kush - Reserva Privada "Attitude Freebie"
Hands down the strongest of the the three strains Cannalope is definitely my favorite! It also produced way more than any of the Koshers or Og-KushCANNALOPE KUSH.jpg

Cannalope Kush - Kosher Kush - Og-Kush

BUDS COMPARATIVE.jpg
Og-Kush - Reserva Privada "Attitude Freebie"
The smell of these flowers makes my mouth water It's not a strong smoke very mellow. But sadly I have to say that It hermed on my or I don't know what but it has some seeds. Not everywhere and not even completely formed, whenever I have time I guess I'll just try to make hash with the whole plant.
OGKUSH NUGS.jpg

Top Right - Og Kush

I'll try to post more often at least on a weekly basis.

SORRY GUYS THANKS FOR STICKING ALONG!!!!!

Hello! Here a quick update trying to keep this thing "perpetual"

VEG CHAMBER UPDATE

Im entering my second week of flower and I’m already planning ahead for the next grow I really want to always have something in the flowering chamber. I will still give Attitude freebies another try, today 03-26-2013 I started germinating. I will give regular seeds a try for the first time with:

5 Regular - Delta 9 Sativa mix “Attitude Freebie”
2 Regular - Cali Connection Boss Hogg “Attitude Freebie”

I’m kind of blind with the success rate of regular seeds but I can also say I’m very excited to not be using Fem seeds. In the past Cannabis cup here in San Bernardino I bought some Jillybean at the TGA booth that I’m keeping for a future grow, want to learn more to try to kill it with Jillybean, haha. I just don’t want to deal with more herm problems.

After killing so many plants last germ around I will be trying the easiest way I could think of. Moist paper towels inside a zip lock bag and ....wait. The veg tent is nice and clean and ready for action.

Looking at the The Main-Lining Thread I’m sold with giving mainling a try. I hope these strains will respond well with this technique. Having at least another 9-10 weeks of flower in my tent I’ll have time to grow out some nice V8 looking plants.

FLOWER CHAMBER UPDATE

The ladies are growing bigger and bigger every day I’m seeing at least an inch or two of growth a day, if not more. I’m amazed that all the leafs specially the Cataract Kush are strong and facing straight up.

There are some big hairs everywhere I’m paranoid searching for sacks ...nothing yet.

I’m having a bit of an issue with gnats. I started spotting them whenever I would feed the ladies. I purchased some GoGnats and mixed some in the “flush” watering, I also diluted some GoGnats in a spray bottle and I’m spraying it whenever I check the ladies out. They are slowly dying down. Will keep you guys posted with my gnat battle.

Don't have any new "plant" pics so here are some older pics:

From left to right: Cannalope Kush, Kosher Kush, Og-Kush right before puting them in Jars to start the curing process.

Me and my girlfriend both smoke a lot of weed and are all about high road trips. We've been changing our Vegas road trips to big sur lately. All I smoke are joints, I grew up in Spain and over there I could say we take pride in rolling, hehe. Here is a pic at Pfeiffer Beach off the Pacific coast Highway packing a nice fatty.

Good smokes everybody!

Damn bro I tried to rep you, that was a nice write up, makes me want to pop my Cannalope Kush seed my OG18 didn't make it.

Your plants are looking super healthy, I love the Kosher Kush to, the buzz on it is very nice for day time IMO.

As for your question about bone meal mix that in with your soil with 1 cup per 1.5 CF bag.

As for the bat guano, depending on whether its the high N or high P stuff you'll want to top dress with it in flower or veg accordingly. ;)

For bat guano you want to take it easy and add 1 tsp per container in the beginner of flower spread even across the top and watered in.

Gnats suck man! I just went to my buddies grow and his shit is full of gnats to, but the girls looks fine to me.

My soil always seems to have some critters in it, mites and sprigtails and gnats... Not really pests that hurt the plant, they are just really annoying and the gnats can and will get in your buds. Its best to get rid of the gnats.

Peace
