just listen to kelly4 and don't accept the job if you don't like what it pays.

LOL!

You are the one who dumbed it down, dumdumz.

I was responding to Pada, who was talking about someone with an "advanced degree". You then made it about the Big Mac. DUMMMMZZ!

your contention seems to be that people just need to pick a different field of study in college.

because everyone gets to go to college, eh?

LOL!

yep, i look so foolish now. so says kelly4, the simpleton.
Yes, you do.

from 2000-2010, min wage went up near 50%. where was the accompanying price adjustment? your dollar had more purchasing power at macdonald's after the wage increase than before, not 50% less.
no it didn't. A big mac in 2000 cost $2, now it costs $3.60. MORE than a 50% increase.

If you want to adjust for inflation, make sure to adjust the min wage for it also, or its comparing apples to oranges.

Have a good day sir.

Where did I say I don't like what it pays?

I didn't because I happen to love my job.

But I won't sit here and say I can buy more now with my dollar than I could a few years ago.

Bases entire economic argument on big macs...

Calls others simpletons....

If you really believe that companies, when forced by the government to spend more money, will not pass the costs onto consumers, then you are straight up fucking retarded. "But the big mac! THE BIG MAC!"

I know you dont honestly believe mcdonalds of all companies is sacrificing profits just to be nice... cmon now

What incentive does the consumer have to go to a McDonalds with inflated prices instead of a non chain burger joint with normal prices, and higher quality food?

Why are you all so concerned about McDonalds?

The price of commodity goods are no longer based on supply and demand. Except of Ebay.

To deny Inflation.

The Federal Reserve which creates all fiat currency in the U.S. has an annual goal of inflating the dollar 2-3 percent a year.

if you don't like the "big mac index", take it up with the economist. it is their idea, not mine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac_Index

The Big Mac Index is published by The Economist as an informal way of measuring the purchasing power parity (PPP) between two currencies and provides a test of the extent to which market exchange rates result in goods costing the same in different countries. It "seeks to make exchange-rate theory a bit more digestible".
The index takes its name from the Big Mac, a hamburger sold at McDonald's restaurants.
