Here I was typing the whole thing. I'll just post his Post about the cross

A sativa pheno Lowryder male was crossed with a very potent white pheno Sputnik 2.0 female, from these came a very resinous purple sativa pheno sputnik 2.0 x Lowryder f1 female that was then crossed with a sativa pheno Sputnik 2.0 x Lowryder f1 male. In the f2's there were 3 AF's out of about 40 plants, 1 sativa pheno male and 2 sativa pheno females (1 was purple the other white). Both were pollinated but the purple was more impressive so that is what was worked with. In the f3's there were 12 AF's out of about 40 plants, 9 females and 3 males. The nicest male which was a purple pheno pollinated the 9 females which were also all purple phenos. Approximately 100 seeds from the f4's were grown out, chosen from the 2 nicest females. 100% of the f4 plants auto-flowered within 21 days from seed (the pics are f4's). A sativa pheno male (also purple) pollinated about 20 females. Currently the f5's taken from the best females are being worked with.

As you can see he continued to cross the children of each generation. all the way to F9 for stability.

No parent was used after the F1 cross.

this is EXACTLY how I plan to.... Pollen from the Auto not Photo. just like he did

and continue to breed the progeny together to the F5 and beyond. once stable I can feminize the strain.

But AGAIN I am NOT working on that at the moment.
I am more concerned with these dedication crosses to Dank's mom and the Original cross I want to try and market.

I find the idea of creating new stable ines to be fascinating. The fact that good auto parents must be selected each round makes me quite interested in them.
Personally I'm a femmed bean guy because it's easier for me to select females than males due to space restrictions and the fact that I can't have a thousand plant grow!

Yeah, when I first started looking up how to create auto seeds it was SOOOO CONFUSING.

it was something like this which made it seem harder than it really is.

parent 1 x parent 2 - progeny 1

Progeny 1 x parent 1 - progeny 2

progeny 2 x progeny 1 - progeny 3

progeny 3 x parent 1 -progeny 4

and so on. it made me think I needed to keep a stash of pollen or a parent around for the whole stabilization. and I was not going to breed because of this.

Once I read the thread Canned Abyss put out on IC mag I was like FUCK YEAH I CAN DO THAT!

And now I have Dank's help as well as another grower Jozikins who has experience with breeding. Both of them have given me the info I need to make the crosses posted above. and in the near future I will stabilize any auto genetics I come up with.

But until then I will mainly focus my thread on what is going on NOW rather than LATER.

As of now 2 blue dream clones are being flipped and CS'd to get a decent stock of BD fem pollen.
I just planted a few more so I may add one or 2 to the mix....
Only 3 BD's left in the dome that are due to root any day now.

So I am going to get some cuts of my Cotton Candy today.

Gonna post up pics of the plants that I plan to cross at some point today or maybe later tonight.

I have a few things to get done in the garden before I start taking pictures......

It's filling up and i'm running low on space to VEG. looking like I need a new light sooner than I was hoping.

I'll be back with some picture updates later.

take care everyone
Stew

Keeping a stock of pollen around should the male prove to be good seems like a very wise idea to me!
I recognize Jozikins name as someone who is knowledgeable but I haven't really interacted with him much that I remember.
It seems like there's several of us starting breeding journals now which is really nice. Most don't understand the desire for seeded buds!

It's no so much the desire for seeded buds. but the seeds themselves and what they will produce.

Creating something so original that other growers and breeders say, "Well, why didn't I think of that?"

But it's all about how to market the strain in the end.
How to become a reputable breeder who's product is carried at any seedbank, because it is requested.

I wanna create one of those strains where when the stock runs out, people constantly email looking for answers as to WHEN WILL IT BE BACK?!

I have a friend who is pretty close with a breeder and I plan on giving a bunch of test beans out to friends who I trust to grow them out well and journal them. You can auction beans off through TSD as well but I've never done it. It's what I'm thinking of doing to raise money for the bonsai selection setup I want to build so I can choose good parents to back cross. The price of pretty much every S1 on the market is ridiculous! Silver is cheap and someone else did the hard work (or got incredibly lucky or both) to select the clone.

I'd much rather get off the ground as legal as I can. Auctions can be dangerous. PLUS it's still Illegal to sell seed within the US.

That's why I'm hoping I can work things out with the breeder who already has the money and logistics worked out. That has great value to me!

I sprayed the Blue Dream clones down again tonight. a little bit before i turned off the lights.
Tomorrow i'll up it to 250PPM.

I doubt it will run all the way to 500PPM before changing over. but you never know.....

I'll do 3 days at 250PPM and then up to 300PPM.

Wow sounds like an incredibly arduous journey to stabilize the gentics. Sounds like one of the few autos i would try. Also if you started marketing seeds id love to test or purchase some. I feel 100x times better buying from a fellow grower rather than some big business seed bank.

There's a reason that people use back crossing to lock in genes! The fact that you actually have to be able to do good selections on the fly so to speak with autos intrigues the fuck out of me. Maybe one day I'll play with them but I imagine I'd need a space where I could grow like 50 plants to their full potential to find the best ones to use to make the next generation. Photos you can test in a little bonsai SOG under fluoros while you keep cuttings of them alive and then pick the best few to run as full size plants. At least that's what I'm planning on doing.
I want to see the parents of my seeds grown out at least. Ideally I'd like finished product from the mother(s) and a sister of the father. I really don't think that's too much to ask of a breeder. The plants can talk if you know how to listen so let them do the sales pitch!

Alrighty. Time for some clones to be cut.........

I'll snap some photo's while i do it and after i'm done for those of you who would like to see...

Focusing on my Cotton Candy for this new cross.....
I may take a few Blue Thai... but the rest of the plants are still far too young. They will all be ready to clone once i am done with these auto's. and then i'll take a bunch and flip this shit.

I was supposed to be pickin up a MH Conversion bulb today to add some light to the tent but My guy was out and had to order them for me. UGH. so waiting a week and i'll have more light in the tent. and won't have to worry about my shit stretching out.

gather everything neededSUNP0009.jpg
keep the area clean of anything NOT needed to take cuts.SUNP0010.jpg
First cutSUNP0011.jpg
place cut in water/cloning solutionSUNP0012.jpg
2 cut spots WITH a growth tip left to fill out.SUNP0013.jpg
second cut in solutionSUNP0014.jpg
third cutSUNP0015.jpg
Third cut in solutionSUNP0016.jpg
fourth cutSUNP0017.jpg
fourth cut in solutionSUNP0018.jpg
I do 4 at a time.
Take SECOND cut under water 1/8" up from first(this helps reduce embolisms)SUNP0023.jpg
Place cut in gelSUNP0019.jpg
Cut any large leaves OFF or IN HALF.(stops transpiration for faster root development)SUNP0020.jpg
Plug each cut after you remove leaves/cut leavesSUNP0021.jpg
SUNP0022.jpgSUNP0024.jpgSUNP0025.jpg
Mother Cotton Candy after a second set of 4 cuts was takenSUNP0026.jpg
4 new cuts in bowl others plugged(blue dream in there too that need to be planted)SUNP0027.jpg
All cuts together misted and ready to grow.SUNP0029.jpg
Mist ENTIRE dome inside.(trick i have learned. If you are NOT home all day and cannot mist your clones. take a heavily damp towel, OPEN top vent and cover with wet towel. this will keep adding moisture until the towel dries. Remember clones do not need A LOT of light to root.
SUNP0030.jpgSUNP0031.jpgSUNP0032.jpg I got yelled at by my blue dream. Fuckin thing is drinking gallons a day now.... if i forget one day she weeps. :( lol....... OOPS. she's gonna be OKAY! she got a good amount of water just now and will get more later tonight when i water the seedling/early veg.

Well. I have been on the attitude most the afternoon looking for some new regular seeds to get so i can collect some pollen for future crosses.
As long as this project works out.

When the FUCK did HSO start putting out regular seeds??????????????????????????????
Thinkin about some Pineapple Skunk reg..... as well as the SD#2 reg.....

I loved the SD2 when i first grew it out., just never got the pineapple skunk because i didn't have a tent and exhaust set up.

Anyways what you guys think???

stay tuned for the updates as soon as i get some BD fem pollen... Could take up to 3 weeks, which is fine since my BBYY are still small and my CC cuts won't have established root systems until then. :)

I pollinated a Spyder solo cup. For the extra seeds since i think i only got 12-15 visibly growing within the first plant i did

Yes GDP just came out with Purple Dream. however they have only released testers to be given away as freebies. They are listed as out of stock.
But why buy them when i can make my own? :)

Very true. I ordered seeds and received purple dream as a freebie. I've got a GDP male I'm going to use, also have a space queen male. Never did it before but now's the time. You're doing a mighty fine job

well thank you. If you need any advise i posted a couple threads on breeding and fem seed creating here in BP. check them out. very good information.
And feel free to come back and ask. :)
