I use clip fans for both my HLG 240h-c1050a my drivers are between the heat sinks and stay cool to the touch and never will get that hot. Put a little fan on them it will cool them down some.

You want to Grow 8 to 12 plants per each HLG 550? You where averaging 784 a light and you want to push to almost 900? What are you getting GPW with your set up now or whenever you had it set up? if you use HLG 550's I think you would do better with a light rail for them lights it will cover...
