I'm just dropping the seeds into the hole...it's happened everytime bar non. Root grows up while the leadves get stuck below.

HI everyone..I need some help.. I recently purchased an aerogarden, and stared germinating seeds in there...One problem...everytime the root tip grows out towards the light and the leafy part gets stuck in the sponges and rockwool cubes that i have in there. Why is this, and how can i get that...
