Insect frass is actually very potent. In my experience organic dry goods when not activated properly with time heat moisture and/or beneficial bacteria have a much higher potential to burn plants quickly then chemical salts. When properly cooked/amended into soil mixes it doesn't tend to burn...

What a bummer. If this is any consolation I saw a few posts in this thread suggesting clones taken from a hermied sin City plant faired better then their predecessor. IE they said the clones produced no male bananas.

How did you get the testers?

You just use perlite moisture cuttings with spray then humidity dome and heat mat and get roots in 7-10 days? Never heard of this method. Do you do anything else?

That's strange that for over 10 years using House and Garden even in Coco never had Cal-Mag deficiency in any plant in at least 50 strains indoor, outdoor, many different growing mediums.. Super weird here's picture of one of my grows using House and Garden with no Cal-Mag and no deficiencies...
