  • i just got diamond nectar and flora nectar. hopefully i start to see some improving growth. do those two things help the weight of the flower? or just flavor and nutrient uptake? if not, any suggestions for weight? and unfortunately i dont have a journal, im going to start one next grow. i just checked my ppm with EVERYTHING in the reservoir and it was only at 450 so im chillin! :)
yeah i defintely noticed that their nutrients are waaaay too high. the first week of feeding i burnt my ladies to shit! so while im using my floraseries 3 part, i should also use diamond nectar for the humic acid? and then the floranectar for the sweetner. sounds good! and with that line up i should see some significant growth and what not? :) awesome. another question; when i use all three parts for my reservoir the ppm is already super high so will adding the other ingredient increase it alot? or should i lower the 3 part a little bit so i can have some room with the ppm when adding the nectars
what kind of other additives do you suggest for me to improve my grow in ANY way? :)
    Im using GH FloraSeries
Sorry for all the messages haha, i keep seeing other questions. I would recommend you grow out your seeds in soil and your next harvest you go hydroponic. There's no point in randomly choosing a seed to put in soil. Put them all in soil and keep the best one or two as your mother and harvest the rest. Once you have a mother that is healthy, you take clones. That's a wholeee new thing to deal with. One i'll actually be doing for my first time in about a week. Maybe that grow journal will show you how to take them!
This is a reflector with a glass top and vent openings on both sides. This traps the heat in the reflector and immediately vents it out of the room and constantly brings in cool air from within the room. You put the same size fan on one side and suck the air through ducting. Veg room needs the same thing unfortunately. You could *probably* get away with just reflector fans and an oscillating fan for the veg room.
Now as for ventilation, you need to vent for two reasons and unfortunately, in a space of that size you're gonna need 2 separate vents. The link you showed me is great for the flowering room. In flower, the plants are large enough that they transpire a LOT of water. This normally isn't a big deal during veg because the plants don't have any flowers. In the flowering room, if the humidity gets over 60% you're risking budrot. That sucks! If you've heard of botrytis (most commonly heard with wine) then you know what budrot is. So, that fan system is great for removing your humidity. It will help with your heat as well, but you really need to vent the source of the heat. That's the hoods. Buy a reflector that can be air cooled.
hey awnox. there are dual use mh/hps ballasts and they're not that much more expensive. the system i linked you is only metal halide but a quick search will find plenty of dual systems on ebay. I personally don't believe you'll need these however, and this is why. To begin with germinating your seeds, the preferred method of lighting is fluorescent. Go to home depot or lowe's and get a little cfl bulb. Seedlings don't need much light and they're tender enough that a 400w might damage them. You would have to have 2 feet separating your seeds from a 400w. Cfl's go 2-6 inches away from the seedlings. Weeks 1-4 you light with a cfl. weeks 4-8 you light with a metal halide. This is a blue spectrum light which stimulates the growth of stems and leaves. weeks 8 to harvest you light with an hps. This is a red spectrum which stimulates flower production. as you can see, the times when you switch lights are also when you change rooms. You'll only need one of each
Wait you're not saying 2 lights for veg and two for flower are you? Get 1 250 mh and 1 250 hps or 400 if you prefer and that's all you will need. Just with a decent reflector. I've never ordered from them, and wow does that look complicated. I would seriously recommend buying a ballast that is already put together. I don't mess around with electric. Often times, online hydroponic stores will do deals on ebay for their items. Here is an entire system from htg supply for 120 bucks. That's a good price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/250-watt-MH-GROW-LIGHT-SYSTEM-250w-METAL-HALIDE-w-sun-/400084799617?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d26e99081
Yes those lights are more than enough. You're gonna have heat problems with those but your plants will love the light. 250 would probably be easier for both if you didn't already order. A mother is called a mother because we take cuttings from her and harvest her offspring. Wow that sentence was more messed up than I intended it lol. The mother isn't allowed to flower until she's basically all used up. She needs to grow at least 12 weeks to get large enough to support taking cuttings, but in your case since you're only taking two from her she'll be ready in 8 weeks. She will always be growing faster than you can cut her down. That's why you need her in soil so you can control her size with her pot. 3 gallon pot is as big as you can afford to let her get.
hey I'm sure that strain will be fine for you. It has all the big things you're looking for. 5 seeds will also be just fine to pick out a mother. Just get the best of the 5 and flower the rest. That is definitely enough room for 1 strain. you're looking at 1ft x 1ft and 2 feet high. separate your closet into a top and a bottom and you'll be fine. Just make sure there aren't any light leaks! Ya, get the stealth delivery, that's safest. Out of the package is even better, it's unnecessary.

You may even be able to fit two mothers in there, but I would stay with one and work up to it if you so choose. I think you have a basic idea of what you need now. Feel free to ask any questions or go over your grow room materials with you.
Your mothers are going to require 3 gallon soil pots. We're looking at 4 feet horizontal space for the both of them and 1 foot more for a couple clones. You're looking to train your mothers to keep them below 2 feet and probably vegging with cfl's. That'll be 4 feet vertical space. 4 x 5 x 2 is sufficient. Again, your biggest problem will be temperature control and venting.

Your flowering room will need to be slightly larger vertically. You need 400 or 250 hps lighting here, it's the best way to go. So again, training the plants you're looking at 2 feet plant height, 6 inches height for pots unless soil 1 foot, 12 inches between plants and light, and 12 inches for the light itself. 5 x 5 x 2.

9 feet high, 5 feet wide (could squeeze to 3.5), and 2 feet depth. This is for 2 mothers in veg, 4 clones (throw out weakest 2), and 2 plants in flower. Make sure you don't have light leaks, your temps are below 80, and your humidity in flower is below 60%. That's the difficulty.
If you have the space, you need to create a veg room and a flower room. This is important for several reasons. You keep your mothers in veg and have a plant that will provide you perpetual harvests. Secondly, you can veg clones in the same room and have a harvest every 8 weeks by transferring them from one room to the other. Now, the hard part is how do you do it.
Keep the veg room below or beside the flower room, not above. You'll have light leaking down onto your other plants which can't have more than 12 hours of light on it. You can use black and white polymer plastic to separate the rooms but more than likely you'll need something solid so I recommend 1/4" osb board from home depot (like plywood but weather treated) Your biggest problem is going to be heat, heat, more heat, and some wild card problem thrown in for spice. So obviously, venting and exhaust will be your biggest headache. We can get into that later, but the grow journal I referenced will do wonders.
okay...now you're starting to get into the specifics of your grow room. This is gonna be a long post. First of all, if you want two strains you need two mothers. and if you want mothers at all (which you should) you need two rooms. The space you have sounds adequate but I will go into some specific space requirements and you can tell me whether or not you have enough. First of all, I recommend growing soil for your mothers and hydroponics for your clones. We can get into that later, but it maximizes your space.

Okay, I HIGHLY recommend following this journal as this is the type of room I think you're aspiring to. http://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/320402-stelthys-600w-hps-project-new.html Some seriously professional shit in there. This is how you manage the height of your plants, especially sativas. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/cabinet-closet-grow-room-setup/108204-closet-veg-flower.html
You want something that clones easily. That's the main thing. It has to be easily grown to be of any use hehe. Honestly, i'm right there with you lol. I got a kush strain (indica) and a haze strain (sativa) i like to choose. The problem with this is they are different enough to prove troublesome growing together. It can be done if you want however. This is my system and you can modify it to your own purposes.

First, you need an even canopy for your lights. My kush grows 24 inches tops. My haze can get up to 4 feet if i let her. I bend and train the haze to get it the same height as my kush so I can keep my lights even. Secondly, the kush is done flowering around 8 weeks, the haze requires about 11-12 weeks. I just keep track of them seperately
I'm looking at those seeds right now, but first a question about your preferences, Do you like to smoke at night? Like you zone out, watch some tv, hang out with the woman and go to sleep? Or do you like to be a little more active daytime smoker? First one choose indica dominant. Second one sativa dominant. That seed in particular is indica dominant and you'll be looking at bout 2 ounces per plant in ideal conditions. thc seems a bit low at 15.44% but for the price it's a good deal. you're looking for a mother tho, so if you want stronger i'd keep looking.
