the ice probe works well with small res setups.. the key factor to operation is insulating your res.. that keeps the water at a steady 65 regardless of external temp.. cheap shiny foil insulation @ home depot does wonders.. :bigjoint:

seems like your seedlings are dying from thirst.. ppm is not an issue if water is not even getting to your seedlings.. you need to either hand water or run a drip.. the rockwool should not be dry until roots are in water.. good luck!

depending on strain.. they will double to triple in height during flowering.. so you should veg accordingly by how tall your tent is and how much clearance is required for the lights looking great by the way.. goodluck with grow!

you can keep the water level higher in the beginning so the bubbles splash onto the rockwool.. and then lower water level as the roots grow out.. roots can be exposed to air.. that's the whole point of the air bubbles.. but they shouldn't be exposed to light.. good luck with your grow!

maybe you could try to apply a thick lining of caulk/epoxy/sealant around the bottom of the lid to act as a drip guard.. water would splash.. drip towards the sides.. hit the lining.. and right back into the water.. voila! :bigjoint:
