Yeah the carpet idea is what i have heard can work really well, been looking online for ages now. The motor will get hot but doesnt that cool itself down by the fan being on as it pulling air past the motor all the time its running. Dont want any fires.

sounds good tamzi, are you sure doing this will stop any odour escaping, meaning the extractor fan must be pulling out all the odour and not letting it just float out the intake holes.
