Before anything else, make sure you're signed in to the correct Apple ID account. Open Settings, tap the name at the top of the screen and make sure the Apple ID account is yours. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page, tap Sign Out, and sign in to the correct account.

1. Enable Calendar Sync
First, make sure your iPhone is set up to share and receive calendar information with other devices connected to your accounts. To do this, go to Settings > Calendar > Accounts and select the affected account.

If the Calendar application does not show updated events even though your accounts have calendar synchronization enabled, check that the Internet is working properly. Start the browser and check if it loads web pages. If you're using cellular data, you'll want to make sure the calendar has access to your cellular data.
Go to Settings > Cellular data (or cellular data), scroll through the apps in the list, and make sure Calendar is turned on.
