Not really. Some things you might look into, but I wouldn't really recommend for your 1st time, is super cropping and LST. I prefer to let the plant grow natural, but some people top there plants to make them bushy or to keep them from growing to tall.

I do use LST because it doesn't slow the growth of the plant down like topping or super cropping can. Some people cut fan leaves off to make room for light to get down to the lower growth, this is a big mistake and I don't recommend it at all.

Do what you will, but for your 1st grow you really just want to get down the basics. There's so many problems that can come up if you try to do, to much at once.
So we can talk here or you should be able to click my pic, then click it again, should take you to my profile and there will be this same message box you can type in. Either place is fine with me. The site takes a little getting use to.

How do you breed for certain traits, you just pollinate the female and then plant the seeds. Then you choose the one that has the traits you want?

Right, you won't know what traits the plant has until it flowers, that's why I said it takes a long time. Choose the one that has the traits you want, correct. Breeding it over and over again picking that same trait will give it a better and better chance to get it.

And having more female plants with that trait will allow you to pick the one that's showing it the strongest and breed that one. You either need a lot of space, or many years to devote to it. Breeding 7-8 plants into one and it turning out how you wanted it to would likely take most if not all of your life to do.
