    Yes or No?

150W HPS from a garden supply company is a good upgrade to start with over CFLs. For personal stash grows its all you need. Easier on the electric bill, less conspicuous, less heat, cheaper bulbs, less initial cost than a 250 or 400W. Still it gives you the spectral and lumens per watt...

    Just Topped, Need Advice.

Good point, you can go 12/12 from day 1. And the results will show it. You can also veg until you see the preflowers and then go to 12/12. And the results will show that too. Likewise with drying/curing. You can dry it in the oven if you want, takes 10 minutes. But to get the quality...

    indoor small soil grow

It's not light burn or pH. You can't have 2 plants in one pot. I know it seems like you should be able to, but you can't. I don't know why. It sucks but you need to start over with separate pots. You could cut one now and hope the other one improves, but honestly that is pretty unlikely...

    total newb here!

For that size box forget the 250W HPS you want to use CFL only for vegetative growth and a 150W or smaller HPS for flowering. 250W HPS is a good size light to start out with though. Either way, first get the light(s) you want, then find the cabinet/box to fit the light rather than the other...

    temp question

Definitely make vents and add exhaust fan. 87 degrees won't kill the plant directly, but it will stress it out and slow growth. I have a cabinet almost the same size and it has a vent at all 4 corners with 2 computer fans moving air out the upper vents all the time, keeping it only 3-4 degrees...

Problems with my plants, lightely colored

    1) Rootbound, 2) overwatering, 3) pH imbalance. Primary problem is rootbound (pots too small for size of plants). Easy fix: get bigger pots. Overwatering: wait for signs of wilting before watering the next couple times. Then try to time future watering just before the signs appear...
