If you do use a heat pad do you have a buffer between the seeds and the heat pad? Those pads can get hot and steam your seeds.

He's absolutely correct. The key is wet and warm and I have seen mold come up in other environments that were wet and cold but not when wet and warm. Most importantly, I have 100% germ. rate using the wet paper towel in a plate with a heat pad underneath.
