Mixing the two kinds of light should work. The LED's will provide narrow bands of the light spectrum and the CFL should provide a spectrum of light and help to fill in the middle areas of the light spectrum. Let us know how it turns out.

You might try putting a bit of the nutrient solution in but doing a lot could harm the plant more. It may not have any nutrients left in the larger leaves to power the roots and get the whole thing going.
