    Matching Drivers and COBs

Unfortunately my setup requires passive cooling and 1400ma is just a bit too much in terms of heat. But for anyone interested sager.com has some.

    Matching Drivers and COBs

Did anyone recently buy a HGL-120H-C1050? Cutter does not stock them, and mouser has a 14 week back order going on. Wanted to run (4) CXB 36V, and that seemed to be the best option.

    Matching Drivers and COBs

Right now my plan is (4) 3950 per HLG-120H-C1050. While looking at the spec sheet, one of the wire schematics showed a relay and switch. I was wondering if anyone had looked one up to there driver? I was hoping to use a Raspberry Pi a a controller.

Lens and Reflector Optics for COB

I thought Jerry would be cheaper, but it seems to be about the save in terms of price. Cutter actually wins out if you buy the kit (cob, holders, reflector). Disclaimer: haven't bought from either yet, this impression is just from pricing things out. Would love to be confirmed or corrected.

    Top bin COB comparison

Any update on the Vero 29 vs cxb bout? I had my plan set to 3 bars of 4 cxbs. But after finding and reading through this thread, I'm not as gungho about it. I also have some thinking to do about my bare walls.

    Mau5Capades: builds & grow journal

I just ran across a great blurb on this. Oddly enough it was on a HID sellers website. "Kelvin temperature is the unit of measure used to describe what color a lamp appears to be when it is lighted. Kelvin temperature is a lighting term used to relate the color appearance of a lit lamp to the...

Why do some want high CRI?

Where did you get that chart? I would love to read the source material around it. Ah, I was looking at the 3000k as a whole, not just the 90CRI 3000k. Makes sense now, thanks for the clarification. Can you like that spread sheets source? I would love to look at it in more depth.

    Matching Drivers and COBs

Im glad you asked, I was just looking into this myself. It seems to be related to the light color and consistency. 1 step would be that all leds in that group would be indistinguishable from one other to the human eye. 2 step would mean that people could distinguish the difference by 1 shade...

Why do some want high CRI?

Why is BD "top bin"? On the spec sheet the 3500k CB has more minimum flux. Am I missing something? Im still trying to decide the LED that Im going to be using. I was looking for info on if CRI would make any diffrence. If not, the 4000k of the CXB3590 seems to be a good contender. It seems to...

Is this considered "top bin"? CXB3590-0000- 000N0BDB40E Also more elementary, what's the difference between bins? I was thinking about getting the 4000k version listed above. According to the spec sheet, it appears to give 8% more lumens than the best performing 3500k bin. (13237 vs 14340)...
