Commercial growers' height from canopy to light

Hey guys, I have seen several commercial growers on the web & social networks who have lights raised pretty high. Easily 5-7 feet above canopy level. For example: http://www.cannabisbusinesstimes.com/FileUploads/media/merryjane083116.jpg This seems like it goes against the basic principle of...

    LED lighting and deficiencies

May be too late for this harvest, but figured I'd chime in just in case someone sees this in the future. That looks like a straight up Mag deficiency. Look at this chart https://www.alchimiaweb.com/blogen/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/KRuFnY4-1022x1024.jpg The steps typically taken for fixing it...

Is FloraKleen an effective substitute for Drip Clean?

Anyone? I'm curious about this as well :)

How long is too long (soil question)

Can you explain the aversion to Drip Clean? Why does it turn soil to brick? Just curious, as I use it all the time and thinking of not using it on every watering but instead on a once-a-week basis as a weekly flush of sorts.

    LED Nitrogen toxicity?

I can't say for sure it's not salt buildup, but the plants look just fine otherwise - the buds are almost as big as the plants under the HPS lights. The plants under HPS lights don't have this clawing symptom. All plants get the same feeding & watering schedule. I do use DripClean (every...

    LED Nitrogen toxicity?

Hey guys, Ran into a strange new issue with my recent harvest and wanted to see if anyone else here had an experience like this. My current room is half HPS half LED (non-CoB, old school 600w (300w draw) purple LED lights). Starting from about half-way through bloom the plants under my LED...

LED lighting in an open space VS tent

LOL I just realized that Framework means it comes assembled (originally thought it was literally just the frame). The assembled version is only $70 more but I'm worried about that 3'x3' coverage area.. I was hoping the six lights would cover a bit more area like 4'x5' or so.

LED lighting in an open space VS tent

Spent some more time You have been extremely helpful! I do understand that something like this http://timbergrowlights.com/300-watt-cree-cxb3590-6-cob-grow-light-kit/ is a better alternative. I just need to build a frame and then it seems like a simple plug & play, which is awesome. You all...

LED lighting in an open space VS tent

I see that assembling a COB LED is cosiderably more affordable. Is there a guide on how to assemble these? Or are they simple plug & play?

LED lighting in an open space VS tent

I almost never see straight 400W LED COB lights, they tend to be either around 330W or considerably higher. Are you talking about the 330W pull LED COB lights?

LED lighting in an open space VS tent

I sincerely do appreciate all of the advice :) I am just trying to figure out how I can meet my needs with my budget & setup situation. Trust me, if I could afford it I wouldn't even start a thread here I'd just go out and buy a bunch of SpydrXs LOL :) I am getting a lot of useful information...

LED lighting in an open space VS tent

I'm using non-vented 1000W HPS bulbs. I've considered the vented hoods but when figuring in all of the factors, it's not the best option for me (cost, grow space setup/limitations, long-term plans, etc). I'm intrigued in LEDs and want to give them a fair shot. Truth be told, I don't think I'm...

What are everyone's thoughts on Platinum P600s? I know they're not gonna replace a 1000W HPS, but I would gladly take a 600W HPS replacement if I can cut the heat production down.
