That's kind of the set up I was thinking of for my first except with 3 40-watt 6500k, 2 26 watt 2700k, 1 26 watt 5000k, 1 11 watt 3500k, and 1 11 watt 4100k.

I was thinking LED too, but I'm still reading, there's such a huge debate going on about them right now with their spectrums but I'd think with a blue/red small ufo it'd help with cfls exponentially. Still main concern is power usage and I'm not up to date on what a set up like that would run me...

Points of light....like the points where the light are coming from? Pierces the canopy? And it's not just all about lumens. Flourescents give a higher quality light with the benefits of choosing a wider spectrum so plants can still get the light they need in smaller amounts for important...

there are so many different genetics that I want to order but am still frightened to. Are there any good genetics available in seed form from dispensaries here? I don't want bad genes, but I want to get things going...

You mean the grow lights that cost twice as much and do the same thing except less options for points of light and spectrum?

Even though the T5s do have a wide spectrum, I'm setting up my CFLs in a specific way, and I'm placing more lights underneath the canopy to get max coverage. I might have a small t5 up top then maybe do some regulat CFL bulbs underneath....that's a thought.

That does help. Thank you. I just did a rough draft of what I want my first grow for 3 small bushes to go and I'm looking at 293 watts actual, 1230 equivalent (CFLs) and 20,380 lumens. Running 14 lights, very mixed spectrum, with 3 lights in one hung powerstrip on each side of the line of 3...

Yeah basically I'm trying to use as little wall power as possible. I'm probably going to do 6 lights on two separate power strips to two different room wall outlets. And if there were little things like fans and such that i thought I might be able to hook up to some kind of separate power...
