A LED / COB is almost a Lambertian emitter.
Taking this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambert%27s_cosine_law ( keep steradiant in mind )
and assuming that cos(θ). [ with θ=90° ]
So my value calculated is the theoretical maximum in the perfect 90° angle under the light source
hehe, i also thought about calling it absolute, but since you have to calculate it for every power again, i called it real SPD for that power... maybe just a personal thing.
yes you are right, that was a typo, gonna change it to PPF/klm. ( well ok i cant change it anymore )
The calculation...
I find it just very interesting that comparing the real spectral power to the normalized one in the datasheet.
The COB's in my chart are all at the same power. The "green" of a 6500K is as high as the "red" of the 3000K. Thats more than twice the amount of "green" the 6500K produces.
If i would...
Hello folks,
it passed some time since i was active in this forum, but this doesnt mean that i didnt learn anything new.
Something i've come along is the difference between the relative spectral power distribution for LED's / COB's that you can find in their Datasheets and the real spectral...
Like i said in the first post my budget is low atm and my plan was to add 1 more COB with the same heatsink and same spectrum. More COB's to get into my small tent.
But to start with something i only got 1 COB that CAN be driven at 200W but dont have to. :D
It was just for testing reasons why...
The quote i got on this was $86 + shipping + import taxes to germany
Running the vero 29 @ 200W without air exchange in the tent for about 3 hours got the passive heatsink to 57,6°C. I took this temp with a laser thermometer.
So after some time collecting knowledge in my brain i wanted to do something with it.
Since i am a student with low income i have to start low and get more and more equipment over time.
But to start off with something i decided to grow vegies in my kitchen.
Therefore i saved some money and...
The pics where made when the super soil was rdy and freshly planted into the pots. They where standing under one light to get some temp.
now it looks like this:
Gonna keep the weird yellowing in mind. maybe the right dimming does the job well enough
Well if i run all on max, i got about 480w light power and it is much more intense than the P600.
He wrote me yesterday that he had to dimm the COB's down for about 30% because the plants under the COB's got some yellowing/ light green leafes in their early stadium.
So finally my Lamp has been installed and is going to do its testrun :)
Next to a Platinum P600:
Turned buth on max:
