So, I've got some fantastic looking Purple Kush on the go. I'm just shy of 6 weeks and have noticed ants alllll over. When I checked on things before bed, things looked great. In the morning though, one plant was absolutely, 100% dead. Any thoughts?

What he said. You gave em a whole bunch of water they didn't need. Get em out of those saucers and stick a fan on 'em. They should dry up a little quicker that way. They'll be fine.

Just look at what it is you're buying and do your best to recreate it. If you can't figure out how, it may be best to just drop the cash on the ecosystem product to save yourself headaches.

If you're reasonably handy, I'd imagine you could build something equivalent for about 1/3 of the money. I've never used one though, so for all I know they could be downright amazing.

I pay the equivalent of about $6.50/g and it's AAA stuff. It's all in who you know.

I understand that it's designed to reflect everything down, but the idea of a vertical bulb is to have your plants somewhat around the bulb. With the reflectors sides being around the bulb, the plants obviously can't get any light. Only what's directly below it.

If you're familiar with phenotypes, it could be as simple as you somehow getting the sativa pheno of whatever strain it is you're growing. I had a friend who had a Purple Kush bagseed go to almost 13 weeks once. Purple Kush is typically 7-9wks. It's luck of the draw, really.

About a week. Sometimes 2 weeks, depending on the strain.

That's when you know you're high haha.

An afterthought here: What about foliar feeding? Obviously you can't just go in with a spray bottle and drench everything now that there are buds in full bloom, but I'd imagine spraying only the leaves with a 1-1-1 mix (or something similar, with a decent amount of nitrogen) wouldn't hurt...

I second the bottled nutes idea. I don't know if you have considered it or not, but PH may become a problem once you bring synthetic nutes into the mix. An organic product will buffer itself, for the most part anyway. I have yet to try the Super Soil so by no means do I speak from experience...
