How do you guys change the water from you ebb & flow reservoir? Do you use a pump or remove the whole reservoir from the flood table and dump it out?

can one move rooted clones from an aero-cloner set up into rockwool slabs (into an ebb & flow)? i.e. can you shove the roots down the rockwool's center without hurting the plant? or should one use different medium all together. Thanks.
