  • those 2 systems you linked you can certainly build a better design yourself for half the price. all those systems are is a tub (tote) with holes in the lide, a water pump inside and some kind of spray bar system, i would build one myself if needed but i already have all tools and meterials, so if you were to go out and opurchase the right sized hole saw, electric drill, you would be better off getting one of those systems, they all seem the basic design so go for it as long as they are reputable companies, you will soon see once you want to step up your aero-game you may end up biulding one to suit your needs once you get the gyst
Hiya Morris, I notice you were very knowledgeable about hydro. I am looking for an aero set up I want to buy and me thinks your the guy to help. I've done allot of organic soil growing and want to make a step up to hydro. I've had my eye on two:

    http://www.hydroponics.eu/aeroponics-c-78/aero-systems-s-31/aerofarm-3--8968.html

    http://www.hydroponics.eu/aeroponics-c-78/aero-systems-s-31/nutriculture-amazon-8-plant-5111.html

What do you think? I'm a bit confused does this come with a pump, misters, e.c.t? I already have 400W HPS and HID and 125W CPF with everything else you need for A soil grow ruck in-line fan, carbon filter e.c.t

I really appreciate any help you can give.
my first run in aero went with 15min on/ 45off, then i tried 30/30 and still nothing different. you can keep the sprayer off for atleast 45min during light cycle simply because your grow channels are full enclosed, the humidity in the channels will be like 99%, this moisture will be enough to keep roots from drying out between spray cycles. i believe the more important issue would be night time spraying, i used to run 15/90, if a spray cycle would give you root rot, it would be over watering at night time. look at your plants as a factory, once the lights go out, all internal mechanisms shut down, the roots will not suck up any water, they will just lay there and get wet, but since we have no media to hold onto moisture at night i sugguste you run a spray cycle a few times at night
atKi5269 ...... it makes no sense to go and purchase a $50 cycle timer that lets you run 1min on / 4min off, i personally have tried every single timing method and yet to see a difference, as far as root rot is concerned , aslong as your water is below 72F and well aerated that will not be the issue. the reason why we get super-charged performance from plants using aero is because the spray action allows the water to get well aerated.
Morris, your post regarding root rot and using Hygrozyme has been very helpful. My question is regarding watering times and frequency in an Aerflo 60 system. I've heard so many things I'm not sure what to believe at this point, and I'm unable to get through a crop without root rot popping up. I have a chiller so water temperature is not an issue. Any help regarding a watering schedule would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Morris, I just put my seedlings into an aeroflo2-30 along with hygrozyme as directed in the res. Someone has been telling me that I need run the pump on a 1 minute on/4 minutes off cycle for the course of the entire grow or I will rot the roots.

I run my pump 24/7 and wanted to get your thought on this persons claim that I will get root rot. I keep the res in the min 60's F. Thanks so much!
Take care Morris..Its FilthyFletch just sayin some byes to folks..I asked Roll to delete my posts for saftey so he ban me and has taken my info hostage so i no longer support this site as for saftey and for his refusal to keep users saftey a concern.Be careful posting this new setup is not secure.Take care..This name will probably get banned soon too lol
    Hey,
I was reading a thread you posted and you mentioned you have plans for a cheap 12 bucket DWC system. could i get a look at them.
from all the nutes i have tried i couldnt tell you if i saw increases, but i can tell you i didnt have white salty residue anymore, i had stable PH and PPM didnt lfuxuate, aside from that i never seen healthier, happier plants every! super problem free and i think the stuff makes everything taste soil grown. i buy the stuff cus PBP has humic, citric acid, silica and raw cane sugar already in it
hey I am pretty sure it was you that said you were using the pure blend pro nutes and really liked it? if so did your yields increase or decrease with the switch? would you recommend these nutes?
yea any old spray will do. you can leav a regular house spider alone....good bugs bro, they dont eat plants and they feast on all other bugs. if you want you can spray around the outside of your tent but watch out spraying into the fresh air supply. if you ever have a chance you can pick up a few different products that are easy on the wallet and very safe on your plants. neem oil, safer soaps and my favorite is a product from fox farms called " dont bug me". i highly syggest these products as a precautionary spraying for every couple of weeks, on your plants and around your tent. although if you got hit with a full blown infestation bugs use these sprays as mouthwash! these are only the front line in a bug battle. eventually you will get hit with bugs, its inevitable the most seasoned and precatious growers get hit, thats when the war only begins and you will start spending $$$
hey i was wondering if you could answer a question for me, i have my tent set up at my house now in my unfinished basement and it seems to have spiders i actually just saw a spider in my tent, is it okay to use regular spider spray throughout the basement or would that some how effect the plants?
change your rez every 10-14 days, OR... once the volume of water has been replaced totally by top offs, ie. 50gallon starting res was topped off once every 2 days with 10 gallons of water, the 10day would be a total of 50 gallons worth of top offs
hygrozyme takes care of anything, using it should put your mind at ease, use peroxide to clean your equipment after a run. as for your plants not taking up nutrients, how old are they? you have to figure to get a good build up of salts it takes around a month, i dont know if your starting rez ppm(nutes mixed in) is too strong. sometimes that lucas formula works great but its not a one size fits all. the clearex you should let run like the bottle says, until ppms stop rising. in my experience with it that takes atleast 24hours or like 6-8 flood/drain cycles. you did good, my advice would be to flush like you did with clearex once a month to avoid those nasty ppm and ph spikes, start off with weaker nutrient mix and watch the ppms, its ok for the ppms to rise but nothing drastic. the sweet spot is when your ppm stays the same or drops as water is consumed, this will be the indicator to bump her up 100-200ppm
So, my question is this. (sorry for the back story) When you use Hygrozyme in your formula how often do you dump the res? From what I have read I do not need to use h2o2 anymore b/c it will destroy the hygrozyme. Do you worry about your rez getting slimy without the use of h2o2?
I saw your form. on the CAP thread and I really like it. My ? is about the Hygrozyme. I just started with it yesterday 10 ml/gl. I am also running 30 tsp/ gal Cal Mag plus. The rest of my nutes are GP Lucas form. My prob. was that my plants where drinking the water like crazy, but not the nutes. My level was going down but my PPM was raising like crazy. So yesterday I dumped the res and filled with tap water and Clearex and flushed 5 cycles. The ppm on the flush started at 144 then when I was done it was 452. I dumped the res again and rep. the clearex rinse for another 3 cycles. The ppm went from 144 to 220 this time. So I am hoping this will solve the nute lockout I have. So now I have added the hygrozyme. Even with the use of h2o2 my roots on a couple of plants are brownish. I started the res at around 900 PPM and I will + to 1300 when they start accepting nutes again. My rez temps stay around 65.
hey MG! Im back home and at it again! I was readin and saw a post from you and wanted to say hey, anyway, thanks for the advice with my cab.
