    Sugar cane instead of molasses?

I believe it's not the same, because it doesn't have micro nutrients like molasses to feed the microbes.

    Adding Beneficiall Organisms

Thanks for the comment. Yea, I ended up keeping it simple and brewed up a cup of vermiblend (compost, humus, ewc, kelp, and humic acids), 1/4 cup of alaskan humus, and a 1/4 cup of some other EWC. If this goes well I will probably use a similar recipe for flowering but add some high P guano...

Anyone care to chime in on my soil recipe??

I would lighten it up with coco coir and perlite. I would also recommend adding a cup of azomite for trace minerals. I usually add 25 lbs of castings to 4 bags of soil, 1/4 sounds like a lot. I haven't had much experience mixing my own soils because I have had such great results with sub's super...

    Adding Beneficiall Organisms

So this time around I will be introducing many types of beneficials to my soil. I was planning on mixing with alaskan humus, local forest humus, homeade bokashi inoculated with Lactobacillus, & myco madness. The myco madness I would introduce during transplanting. I am wondering why people...

    Is this a good ballast?

Looks like a decent ballast. I am probably going to buy 3 more of lumatek's lk1000 ballasts. Have had no problems yet and they work well with my ushio bulbs.

Co2 grow tent?? would appreciate the help!!!

I'm in the same process of adding co2. I decided to ditch the tent and get 3 more 1000w's. Since I'm adding an ac unit and co2 why not use it and the room to its fullest potential? If uprading or building a sealed room/shed is not possible I would just try to seal the tent up as best as I could...

    4000w mh/hps setup

Hello fellow RIU members, I am planning on setting up a 4000w setup in a 10'x10' area. The room will be sealed for climate control. There will be 36 plants total in 7 gal pots, 9 per light. I will be growing organic and will be using the mainlining technique to create a full canopy. I have...

    First 1000 watt grow

I just did a bunch of research on spinosad, sadly they don't seem to affect spidermites. I had mites and kept them down with pepper spray, habeneros juice and water. The active proteins kill the mites on contact I believe. The eggs kept hatching though so it was an on going battle. Never found...

    Spinosad during flower

"Tests show that ultraviolet radiation from sunlight can break down the active ingredients in Spinosad within 16 days. The rapid photodegradation was observed to occur in water and on soil and plant surfaces. Beneath soil surfaces and away from sunlight, Spinosad was found to undergo biotic...
