  • 1. cinnamon oil - this is an excellent option for you, as it kills adult spider mites on contact, and is also effective at controlling, but not eliminating PM infestations. mix 1/2 tsp. cinnamon oil with a few drops of dish soap and mix until milky in appearance, then add 1 quart of room temperature water. test on a small area of the plant first, as this has the potential to burn the plant.

    2. hydrogen peroxide - again, this likely will not take out the entire infestation, but it's safe for use in the garden and will effectively remove around 70% of the infestation

    3. milk - this is the choice of many organic gardeners, and most rose growers use it as well due to it's astonishing effectiveness. most people mix 1 part milk to 9 parts water, then spray the entire plant. beware that if using strong milk concentrations there will be a different mold that forms, but is harmless to the plant, just no good for smokers. if this occurs lower your milk concentration.
well, floramite continues to work for 21 days, so the spider mites won't be a problem most likely, so long as you're keeping your garden clean and you make sure to clean all the surfaces after spraying for the mites. as for the pm, it's a tough problem to fix as any spores in the environment readily reproduce. firstly, invest in a programmable dehumidifier, and set it to 45% and make sure to empty it often if you live in a humid area or your garden is prone to high humidity, as i suspect it is if you got PM in the first place. secondly, decide on a control plan. i keep a few options around just in case, and most of them are probably around your house. my top 3 are in the next post
    Hey RRLBT420,
I heard you were an expert. So if you don't mind, I'd like some advice.

I have an infestation of both PM and SM. I treated the SM with Floramite doing the dipping process, it killed all the adults and now 2 days later all the eggs are hatching. I'm worried to do another dipping in case it's too much and it will kill my clones. What do you suggest I do now? I have too many to physically wipe down. :(

Also, how can I remove PM at the same time as SM if they like different environments? One hates cold, one hates warm. I'm so worried and confused.
