Yea they do hold on to salts but i use drip clean and that seems to help. Also when i made the switch to coco i started feeding til runoff everytime and that really helped reduce buildup.
You must have been doing something wrong. Im glad plastic is working for you but honestlty ive used both side by side with the same strains and sp out performed the plastic by far. Sp ftw!!

Worst answer yet Growth in a sp is hands down better then plastic. I would change my medium before i would switch to plastic. Try some promix cc or better yet some coco, like a 70/30 coco perlite mix. Ever since i made the switch to coco ive never looked back. Its probably the best change ive made.

IMO, if you can keep temps and humidity in check then i would do 20-4 or 18-6. But for me, especially in the winter, my night temps get too cold and i also dont have a dehue so in full veg my humidity would spike to 80-90%. So running 24-0 keeps temps and humidity in check and made for a better...
