    your comparing an annual plant to a tree .... thats the first problem .... coppicing and/or pollarding is what you are talking about, cutting trees right back then regrowing juvenile foliage - however this doesnt work for all tree species, let alone an annual plant, yes you can indefinitely...

    thought id share since outdoors wasn't too successful this season .... started with a cheapo 120w ebay led ... and trained heavily cause its a small bitch of a space, 1 foot wide x 2ft High x 4ft Long cab now flowering with 250w hps - with 12 or so ... i cant remember exactly...

    cannatonic, 6-7% cbd and thc content and 1:1 ratio, mk ultra x g13 haze - "grows like a indica smells like a sativa" from resin seeds .... not exactly what your after, but they are available in regular seed packs .... last time i ordered anyway

    just because the plant tops can sometimes seem to slow or stop growing - especially during and after stress situations doesnt mean they are not doing anything - i bet if you keep your eye on the roots like you do the leaves you will notice they are continuing to grow - probably just stabilising...

    your soil may have become aqua-phobic, even though you are watering the waterering regularly like you say, the water may not being kept in the soil properly, try some dish soap in your water to thin it, this will re-wet your soil ....... if thats ya problem anyways ... if you do need to re-wet...

    leaves look like they are being eaten by some kind of sap sucking insect bro, it might be a thrip like you said, or something else ... these guys can be REALLY small and hard to find, since they usually like to live on the underside of whatever they are on .... you could use something like neem...
