My two cents worth.....I've grown outside for years, if a week of rain killed your plants my guess would be the dirt the plants are in. Make sure that the soil is well drained and doesn't hold so much water around the roots. If you have clay based soil try mixing some mason sand (white sand)...

My guess would be burnt by the sun, but pics would help or a better description of where the yellow is starting. This time of year if they are outside you are going to gets lots of yellowing on your fan leaves as they start to bud out.

Wutter, the baby is looking good so far, don't worry about the different color of greens that is pretty much normal. I can't say that all plants do the 2 tone stage but most of mine do that in the veg state at some point or another. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
