Ok, so I got a box that measures 4' tall x 2' wide x 2'8" deep in my closet. I have five 27 watt @ 5500k and two 42 watt @ 6000k. It's not the ideal room but I can usually keep the temps between 85-90 degrees with 5 pc fans and a big oscillating fan.
For the three or four days I didn't even...
I am just starting out here, but I would think applying the nutes directly to the plant would cause nute burn.
I've got an 18 gallon tote going with seedlings starting to sprout. If I put the nutes into the water, the plants wouldn't be getting the nutrients efficiently?
Thanks for the reply. I might add that these are still seedlings with nothing sprouting out of the rockwool yet.
Hopefully the lights will help them a long a little. Thanks much!
Two days ago I placed two seedlings in rockwool within the grow chamber. I have the water up half way to the cup and have my airpumps on 24/7.
I've read quite a bit that while it's still a seedling to have the water level high, but recently I'm seeing that too much water can create root rot...
I too would like to know what air pump is recommended for a 18 gallon res. I am just waiting on my seeds, but I got a pump rated for 20 gallon with a dual outlet going to two 1' airstones and a smaller pump rated at 15 gallons pushing a small 6" stone.
Not sure if that will be enough. If not...
Yea, seeds need to crack in a dark and humid place. Once the crack and sprout a root you transfer it over. If you just plant them in the rockwool, that might be your problem.
Interesting article.
Do you guys leave your water out for a week before changing it? I hear this is good when you're using tap water. Perhaps I can add the peroxide then and let it break up during that time.
Great guide. I'm starting my DWC over the course of the next week. All my stuff is together and ready, just need to order some seeds.
Not sure, but I've read a few places that during the seedling stage to keep the light about 6in to a foot away. When you gets stronger then lower it to two...
I don't think it would be enough to actually induce strong growth. You might get some small plants, but they I doubt they'd be strong and might get sick easily.
The softer light tells the plant that it's time to flower and procreate to survive winter. If you stay with just the 2700k I'm not...
Alright, I spent all last night gathering a majority of my parts and with a little help from my friend and built a nice grow box. The measurements were 4' high x 2' wide x 3' deep.
I'll be growing 3 plants in an 18 gallon rubbermaid container with 3 airstones. I've still got a few minor things...
Thanks for the replies guys! I was looking into Ebb&Flow, but I am wanting to make this a closet grow and don't know if I'll have enough room. I'm trying to keep this confined to just the aquarium within the box.
After doing more research on the drip system, I see a lot of complaints about...
