How many plants can i grow using a 800W LED

Well...
The actual output of that light is 155 watts.
Rule of thumb for lighting is 35 to 50 watts per square foot.
4 square feet. 2 by 2.
How big of plants are you going to grow?

You gotta have enough light. trying to make do with less is failure.

Maybe there's a usable driver in it. You might be able to use it for COBs, like they do with Mars LED drivers. One review said it burnt out 2 weeks after he bought it, so I wouldn't run it unless you have to. It's probably poorly cooled. Might be okay if you take the driver out and put it somewhere else nearby with long wires. That way it won't overheat inside the fixture.

go to school, learn electrical engineering, build your own light... or

get alot more money and spend.it on a light that puts out 800watts.

the common advertising for these lights.coming.out of china is they can handle 1000w or 800w but they aren't ballasting the lights.to do so, instead theyre only putting in the nominal voltage and restricting the current flow. ie 120volt 1.2amps actual versus putting out fuck ass amounts of light @ 120v 3amps there abouts.

the guy who got a bad light is probably followed by a black cloud and cannot have nice things... id ignore him but only use this kind of.light.for veg and.either get another one to and.use.two.during.flowering or have a big gun ready to pull in for flowering. alot of growers do perpetual harvesting and have a weak light and a big light in seperate rooms/boxes on seperate light schedules.

Maybe if you got a higher output driver, more like maybe a 300w Meanwell. In a light like that, the driver would be the most expensive part so that's why they cheaped out and only used a 150w. Just open it up and see what the parts are. Once you know the voltage requirement of the LEDs you may be able to get a driver of that voltage with a higher current output, assuming they really are 10w LEDs.

Ok so plant outside and use the Amazon bought light as a drain pan and let the sun grow your plant to huge proportions.

Do you know the difference between vegging and flowering? Do some stuying up and watch videos on youtube. Get yourself some cheap T5s or T8 for vegging or a CREE PAR38 style spot light which is pretty cheap like $24 at Lowes or Home Depot. It will work fine for vegging. K5000 to K6500 for vegging and K2750 to 3000 or 4000 for flowering.

Avoid the cheap Chinese LEDs and read up on the DIY COB LED's on the forums here that people build here or go to http://timbergrowlights.com/

For LED it is 25 watts per plant, or 25 watt per square foot. Actual used wattage. 800 watt LED will be around 200 used watts
