Dr. signed ACMPR paperwork easy peasy...

Bit of context....I am in Kitchener, Ontario, saw my family Dr. I've had for 5+ years today. Existing MMAR paperwork holder. Suffer from AVN of the hip.

Doc sees Cannabis as harm reduction. Is it better than you being on narcotics? Absolutely. He is not a big fan of smoking it (lung cancer, heart issues from combusted materials) but is more comfortable with vaping. Just kinda shrugged about edibles.

Asked about the 'college' and he said their official stance is similar to the DEA's 'has not been clinically trialed' yet kinda thing. He says some doctors are very opposed but most are quite comfortable with the concept. He say's he is somewhere in the middle.

His exact quote after chatting for 10 min. "So what do you need from me? Some paperwork or something?" He signed, updated my grams per day as per my request and I'm out the door.

This is absolutely the way it should go. No issues or barriers from him at all. Wished me luck.

Good job....it always best to have a good relationship with your doctor....
they are people too and most have a mountain of info stored in those brains....

Agreed. I have followed his 'recommendations' for a couple of years (all the while treating myself with cannabis) and finally got to a point where it was time to be completely open. It was more a point of validation for the coppers than a medical confirmation. As many have pointed out, I'm gonna take care of what needs to be done. At the same time, if an avenue is available for legitimacy, then I'm in.

I enjoy asking the liquor store employee when they will be selling me cannabis. They are always 100% blushing and stammering. I love it.

I enjoy asking the pharmacy when they will be selling me cannabis. They are always 100% blushing and stammering. I love it.

Neither knows the 1st thing about our medicine. Power to the home grower and self advocate.

Rant over/
Sir

Agreed, BUT lets not forget how little of all that knowledge they posses is Cannabis related. They were never taught anything but negatives about it(all racism based propaganda at that). And also, let's not forget how few Doctors continue educating themselves after graduating. With legalization around the corner they're just NOW starting to delve deeper into educating themselves beyond the absolute rudimentary basics. It saves time to learn from someone else than to do it yourself. So LP's are right there approaching them to do so. :wall:

You use the sample form? looks like it. I got mine done today and used sample...people are now telling me within the application there is a check box saying medical document included. I know a husband/wife that is sending theres off this way...for anyone who may find this easier to get.

Yep, used the sample form, saw and checked the included medical document box. I called and double checked and all was good. They just want the application and the sample filled out. Asked if I should send my MMAR in (Just asked folks, relax...) and they said no. 'That doesn't matter anymore'. I think they were meaning now that I was applying to ACMPR, that my MMAR was irrelevant, not that it wasn't still good.

When I was last at my doc's office they had a sign stating they were not signing any paper that had to do with allowing patients to grow their own marijuana. I have the same issue where the LP's are charging like $10 a gram and its insane. Pretty sure this clinic must get some back end for not allowing any of its patients to grow their own and only allow them to buy from the pricey LP's.
