@bearkat42 thanks again for your perspective. If every white person in this country had someone like you in their circle of friends to keep them honest and hold them accountable for their stupid racist shit this country would be a far better place for everyone.

I don't have either a Facebook or twitter account, for privacy reasons. I happen to like my privacy and I'm not willing to watch companies abuse it for their financial gain, no matter how cool they are.

Please share? Might even be worthy of its own thread?

Yeah, let's just blame this pie in the sky racism bullshit again. Man how shallow can you get. Blacks not only segregate themselves in the housing market regarding location but in churches, social events, clubs, etc.

There are plenty of laws on the books regarding equal housing, equal lending.

Gawd knows the lenders learned their lesson with the Barney Frank debacle "everyone deserves a house". You don't loan to marginal high risk peeps, it doesn't work. You only loan if you have low risk peeps sitting across from that desk and can be assured your mortgagee will pay back YOUR money in full. If the man with hat in hand has a shitty credit score and can't get a loan it's his own damn fault. Needs to stop buying guns and drugs in the hood and use his money wisely.
Lol

Screaming racism in a thread about home values is utterly ridiculous as well.

Money doesnt have a color. People decide where they want to live. More popular places to live have higher land values and typically higher property values. Every person who buys a piece of property makes a decision about what that property is worth to them. That number is recorded and used for comparison of other comparable properties in the area.

It is supply and demand.
Yeah, you're probably right. What was I thinking. Black folks have always chosen where they wanted to live.

It isnt about color... Poor white people have not always chosen where they want to live. In fact if you dont have about 20 million dollars it generally limits you.

On one hand, housing values are cheap in some areas allowing people to buy low cost housing. Somehow you are unhappy with this and apparently want the housing to be worth much more which would prevent poor people from buying housing in that area and suddenly... You have exacerbated the problem!!!! Congratulations!!!

Housing like many other things in life is supply and demand.
