Hello,

I have planted outside 3 times and I want to go indoor after the last bad experience.

I did some research and almost I am decided to go for 3 cxb3070 with hlg-120h-c1400B for a 80x50 (cm) space. Running them at 1400mA. It is said this driver maximum voltage is 108V, so with this 3 Cree cobs I think would work perfectly.
At the same time, after reading some opinions, I am doubting with the Vero29 gen7. Although I can not find them online...
What do you think? Which setup would you go for? And which driver would run and fit 3 vero29??
Another better option? Just say your opinion please

Thanks in advance!
Waiting for answers from Europe,
Koke

vero 29 gen 7 not only crushes 3070 in output it also beats 3590 handily. if the 3070s and veros are same price i couls seeno reason to buy the crees
Thank you for response. Which driver could fit 3 vero29 gen7 (the good ones, bin)
Actually I am having troubles to find veros in European store :( if I could find them I would go for the vero, I think..

More opinions?

Growmau5 uses Cree ones

---> shops selling cobs and drivers will have Black Friday sales? Haha what do you think??

Yeah you should be able to run three 3070s with that driver. At 1400 ma the voltage never gets above 35. It's very close to the driver's max voltage but theoretically it should work. If it ever just flashes every few seconds instead of staying on, you'll have to drop it down to two cobs. It's not great to run drivers close to their max, because it will probably reduce their life span, but you can try it.

All depends on your goal?
Reduce Electricity but much higher cost or a bit higher electrical much lower cost.
I run 6 Vero 29 3000k in a 3 x 3 at 2.1A for over 950 PPFD.
I went Vero as Cree for me isnt worth the cost at all unless your in a very high electricity country.
Vero are only a few bucks more a a month compared to cree.
If it were me I would run Vero or Citi Cree unless price comes down alot.
Would run at 1.4A or 2.1A depending on your budget.

thank you!! but which COB? there are few vero29 gen7 3000K.
my space is 80x50(cm) i want to use 3 COB's
so which one would be your best choice? driver and cob model (check the other thread :D )

My goal... good quality weed, and efficiency of what i pay XD i don't have a limit at all... just 3 COB's. I have read that most of people run their COBs in low current. I wouldn't modify the driver, always at the same current :)

Okay, I happened to have the Vero 29 data sheet. The voltage is too high for three of them on that driver, it's like 36.4 volts just at 1050 ma, so probably about 37-38 at 1400 ma. Stick with the 3070s or get a higher voltage driver or only run two on it. Doesn't seem to be much difference between the two brands other than the higher voltage with the Veros.

hahahaha ahhh so difficult, i don't know which set up i would go for my space... i only want to build up 3 COBs in this small 80x50 (cm)

Does the vero29 gen7 doesn't need a holder? i can't see them in the northern light website

thank you all!

I would get the Cree unless there's a substantial saving on the Vero price.

Cree set up is around 40 bucks more expensive XD but i have heard best Vero cob is 35E10K0-C.73.

But i only found 30E10K0-B-73 or 30E10K0-D-73 and few others as i say in the other thread. Don't they need a holder?
the B one has hexagonal shape, not circle :/ is it right?

Pretty sure the 3070s are older models. The 3590s can't even compete with the Seventh Gen Vero29Cs at this point. If Cree doesn't introduce a new generation of emitters, they're probably going to fall behind. 3590s aren't necessarily bad, but they are beginning to find themselves surpassed by the progression of new emitter gens from other rival companies, which are proving to put out more light.
